    Black, gay (christian?! ) friend

Yes, here I am confessing to another association with a gay. There may be many such posts in the future as I went to a woman's college and it's a wonder that I got out of there still interested in men.

So, a few years ago I worked with a fellow who was black and gay. Now the black part I figured out right away, ( nothing gets past my keen eye ) but I only suspected him of being gay until one day our training class had an "Introduce Yourself" afternoon.

We were all told to bring in one or two objects that we felt said a lot about us. Well, this young man stood up there and showed us a photo of his "partner" and his Bible. He then went on to talk about how much his relationship and his faith meant to him,

I tell you, I was dumbfounded. Being all lapsed and all but remembering enough of my Bible study years to know that both the OT and NT have some pretty specific things to saw about homosexuality, I couldn't help but ask myself how he managed to reconcile two such opposing views. I didn't say anything, because -- get this -- I didn't want to offend his Christian faith!

Yes, that is a mite shocking, but you must remember that I was thoroughly lapsed at the time and thought of myself as a "tolerant liberal". Oh, the shudder that goes through me when I think of those days.

So, anyway this fella left the place where I worked (think he had mental problems -- big shock ) and I believe he is being supported by his husband now. We lost touch after that.

Now, my only black, gay friend is a self-admitted atheist. Not that he's a friend really, I just talk to him from time to time to remind myself of how blessed I am.

    Peacefully Yours,

You're playing with fire there, lady.

"Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds" -- 2 John 1:9-11

Oh, Pastor Zeke! It is not as though I like the man or enjoy his conversations in any way. I have to be polite to him and all because of Human Resources policy. Human resource, isn't the evil baked right into the name?

I'm surprised that you call him your friend. There's a difference between being "polite" to someone when you have to in order to not get fired from your job, and avoiding association with such immoral perverts as much as humanly possible. Before I go out in public I pray that God will place His protection around me so that the gays, kathlicks, mooslims, and other evil people will not come near me because they see that I'm protected by the Lord. I'm very blessed to not have come in contact with any of these people because God protects me. You just have to say a little prayer that asks for God hedge of protection to surround you and protect you from evil and harm by the gays and other non True Christians™.

May the call of Jihad be forever outshined, outmatched, and outlasted by the The LORD's Crusade, to the end of eternity and the extinction of mortal flesh. Let those who march against it in His name be as giants - pure of heart, strong of body, honored, invulnerable. May those warriors be burning stars in the firmament of battle, angels of death on shining wings, bringing swift annihilation to the enemies of CHRIST. Amen.

I imagine it takes a lot of hard work.

But the issue at hand is not the guy that I encounter at work now, he knows that God hates him and is comfortable with that.

The issue that makes my head explode is the gentleman whom I met a a few years ago. This guy was cross-my- heart; tears-in-my-eyes; claiming-the-love-of-Jesus; convinced he was a Christian. He carried his Bible around with him at work. I have no idea what he was reading in there.

I didn't want to point out the incongruity of a Bible loving homosexual because he took his faith so seriously, and I didn't (my own, that is) at that time.

Now, I have examined my belief system with a humble heart and I have to ask how he could take his faith seriously.

I thank you for your time to explain this to me. It seems it still is a weird way of living.
