Why antidiscrimination laws shouldn't apply to homers or homeresses

Rep. Lankford has it right: Queermosexuals weren't born that way and aren't a visible minority, so why should they be treated as though they were? Can anyone name any other status that people choose to adopt, and that doesn't make them a visible minority, but that entitles them to civil-rights protection? Didn't think so.

Well I'm certainly not familiar with politics, but is this any different than asking of pedophiles should be protected from the law?
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Religions - any of them. People aren't born practicing a religion, it's a lifestyle choice, and it's illegal to discriminate on the basis of religion.

You're presumably making that argument so that you can bring back the days of throwing Christians to the lions, but that just proves that we are blessed (Matthew 5:10-11).

Not at all. I believe that everyone should be allowed to practice the religion of his/her choice, or to eschew religion if that is their choice. As long as you don't harm anyone else, and don't try to force everyone to conform to your beliefs, go with the deity or deities of your choosing and have a happy life.

Re: Why antidiscrimination laws shouldn't apply to homers or homeresses

Folks, I know this is going to put me in the minority here but I just don't buy the idea that homosexuality is a choice. The whole idea that a man would willingly take up homosexuality is absurd to me. Think about yourself for a moment: did you choose to be a heterosexual? Did you choose to be attracted to the opposite sex, or was it an urge that you have been feeling since you were an adolescence? Can you explain why you are attracted to the opposite sex? I can't honestly sit here and tell you how I came to be attracted to women-- I just am. Likewise I don't doubt at all that the gay man has been given the urges to be sexually attracted to other men.

Who would choose to be gay? You must endure a negative social stigma, bullying, AIDS, fewer rights, having to stick a spoon up your butt to get dried semen out after intercourse (I assume), and constant rejection from society as a whole.

For years Christians have held the belief (or absurd conspiracy theory, in my opinion) that those in the gay community are choose to live their lifestyle as a means to get back at society; to spite God and his followers, to revolt decent folks, or to be different. I'm here to tell you that's simply ridiculous. No sooner would am an murder his entire family and be sentenced to life in prison to avoid having to pay taxes and hold down a steady job would a man willingly go against his nature to life a homosexual lifestyle just to freak out decent society. When one considers their life and what makes you you, it becomes obvious that homosexuality simply isn't a choice.

But what is it? What would cause someone to act this way? Is it psychology? Is there some abnormality that causes just ten percent of the population to act differently from the rest of us? Hardly. I believe, in my years of observation and deep Christian faith, that God made homosexuals the way they are. Homosexuals are God's children just like the handicapped or the crazy. They are no less beautiful and unique as you or I. It is also obvious to me that they were put on this earth for a very distinct reason. Like every human, plant or animal on this earth they provide a function, and it is my belief that God put gays on this earth to be bullied.

God has a sense of humor just like you or I, and I believe that he enjoys bullying just as much as the average Christian. Bullying is one of the most important underlying messages in the Bible --from the story of Cain and Abel to Revelations -- and it should go without saying that bullying is one of the most important parts of the Christian faith. For every verse in the Bible that tells us to love those who are different than us there are ten or more about bringing down physical harm on those very same people.

You see, God is a bully. From the Garden of Eden to Noah's Ark it is apparent he's like a kid with a magnifying glass lighting ants on fire. Nothing brings God more joy than to bully, and as Christians it is our duty to live a life that is aligned with the teachings of God. One this earth there are millions of homosexuals who, for whatever reason, were given that forsaken status by our Lord. I don't question it. But for whatever reason God has designated them as beacons on which we MUST slew our hatred. As Christians, to get closer to God, it is obvious that we must continue to bully gays.

Friend, Homersexuality is no laughing matter. Tell me it is funny next time you are in an airport bathroom stall and a Congressman makes his move on you.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

It is NO laughing matter to me brother, let me assure you. my "heh" was an expression of disgust. But I'm surprised you would have such a detailed fantasy already thought out. Why a congressman? why an airport bathroom stall? Is this a desire of yours? I am concerned for your salvation. Please, for your own sake, brush up on what God does to those who dabble in sodomy.

I honestly don't know, but I think what you say deserves serious consideration. After all, it's known that some babies masturbate, and what could be gayer than someone playing with his own tallywhacker?

I never chose to be a heterosexual, and, even if I had a million years, I wouldn't be able to explain why I am attracted to the opposite sex. I'm not saying that women don't have their uses, but women are unclean for one week every month. Who would chose to mess with that? Yuck!
