OSLO, Norway (AP) -- Gay couples in Norway will be granted the same rights as heterosexuals to marry, adopt and undergo artificial insemination under a new equality law passed Tuesday.

Norway's upper house of parliament voted 23-17 in favor of the gender-neutral marriage law on the same day that gay couples were marrying in California.

Now tell me that that's just a coincidence.

Here's something even more chilling:

The law gives individual congregations and clergy the right but not the legal obligation to perform wedding ceremonies for gay couples.

The law doesn't give them the legal obligation for now,, but as all True Republicans™ know, when lie-berals give people the right to do something, it's only a step away from making it obligatory. Therefore, in order to protect individual freedom, we need to keep a lid on individual liberty.
