Oh, Dear! It appears that ywood is getting in on this Chinese flu nonsense, and not in a way that's fit for younger eyes. This "movie star" (or whatever he is) thinks he has something vital to add to all of those messages about preventative measures regarding the Kung Flu. Oh, I know he has a right to speak his mind, what with the 1st Amendment and all, but does he have to do it in such a disgusting, provocative manner? I'll include the video clip here; but, please, parents, send your kiddies out of the room before you play this!

          Re: Please Wear a Mask

          Greetings!

I have been made very uncomfortable by this wearing of masks. As a Black man I am somewhat fearful of walking into a store to get some okra and tomatoes wearing a mask because the white people there often think I am a robber and they hold up their hands. They might shoot I. That would ruin all the dinner plans. It is bad enough that the white people have brought this virus to get rid of Black people. I do not think you should be shooting us for trying to hide from it.

Why, that's just it, dear Brother Bathfire: the police would have no way of knowing what's under their disguise. Between you and me, it would not surprise me -- not in the least -- if they were carrying bombs under those outfits!

Amen, and amen, Dear! The solution is so simple. If only the Demonrats could cease from their hatred, and stop trying to block our beloved President Trump from fulfilling the will of Almighty !

                  Re: Please Wear a Mask

I've just had a concern, making up some masks with material I've got left over. This happens to be a synthetic but not in any sense "mixed" fabric and fine when that's all you're wearing. But what about if you change into linen or cotton or even wool later on? Such a mask (or for that matter a cotton one) worn with linen WOULD be mixed fabric.

It's simple to change the mask, I can work that out. My concern is where the other mask would come from. Would taking several out with you, a linen & a cotton as well as the synthetic you're wearing, count as accessories and therefore as mixed fabrics? The pattern is quite easy with pleats sewn in at the corners.

I understand your basic problem, Sister, but not the issue of accessorizing. Surely as long as your mask is at all times of the same fabric as your other garments, that is acceptable to Our Lord?

I don't really understand why you would need to do this, unless planning to change your raiment while away from home. Oh, sorry - I am being slow-witted. If one were shopping for clothes this would obviously be an issue in the changing-room!

I would say that - provided that the spare masks were hermetically sealed in, for example, a freezer bag - you would be fine.

Yes, I was thinking of changing rooms. We also keep more-or-less complete wardrobes at different residences, for example: there are three sets here at present (we never travel with luggage and are rarely in the same place at the same time) in which case a boxful could be sent by courier. Yes, perhaps I'll do that! I'm quite excited now. I do have a lovely silk velvet with iridescent rectangles on it and (just in) some hearty brown polka dotted cotton too. The linen is plain white and the wool is "Buchanan" - sheep's wool. Could it be mixed with alpaca do you think? They're both wool, but if alpaca is a Biblical goat variety I'd need to reconsider. It's so complicated but really quite simple when paying attention to God. It must be awful for those who don't!

The linen is beautiful: such an attractive textural pattern.

As to alpaca, isn't it a variety of camel? Matthew 19:24 suggests that you may have difficulty sewing with it, so I would tend to err on the side of caution and give it a miss.

Yes, you're right. The alpaca I have is very thick anyway, no good for a mask. I'll check the content of other family members' wardrobes to make sure their clothes aren't an abomination.

Deuteronomy 25:16 ~ full context available here
For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.

God has been explaining what to do during battles, anyway eventually the guaranteed victory has been attained and God is right there with commands relating to how His people should conduct themselves once they move into territory formerly held by the wretched soldiers He's just driven out. Christians live in a new commonwealth under the dominion of Christ, redeemed from devils previously in charge. And like The Israelites we have God's Impeccable Standard to guide us. He never changes. What was right before is right today, unlike false creeds cooked up to say that abominations have become "lifestyle choices" and that virtues are now villainies of the first water.

God's opinion, considered by those standards, is serpents in your clothing biting you all over. The one thing He requires is obedience which, in the matter of masks, is covered by the fabric command still current and still right after all these years. God knows all about the virus He made and what we must do to be saved.
