    Re: Greetings, Landrover Church.

As mentioned earlier you might make an appeal on Matthew 7:7. This might also apply to you since Matthew 5:1-2 says Jesus spoke for the multitudes.

If you want answers on this forum you would expect them to be from scripture. I don´t know if that is what you are looking for but this is a Christian forum. What surprises me most is that scripture was only quoted twice in this thread until now, and one of those quotes was from a Pastafarian.

My apologies, I didn't realize I had misspelled the name.

Suppose someone was having a spiritual crisis (an addict looking for God, marriage falling apart, having doubt in one's faith, etc..) and they were not a member of this forum or your church, but was seeking guidance. Without access to a search function, they would have to trudge through pages upon pages of threads to try and find a subject they were looking for, during which time they may become frustrated and seek answer somewhere else, which may or may not lead them into a dangerous cult.
Access to the search function could result in finding and answer to their particular situation sooner and them becoming closer to God.

I initially registered because I had seen mentions about using the "search" function and was unable to find it, however it seems that the search button is only available to registered members, which seems illogical. Why waste time filling out an entire registration just to do a simple search?

I hope you don't mind my lurking around and asking seemingly random questions.

And thank you for the kind welcome!
Of course! You seem like a decent person.

So you've never read the Bible. You should.

...Why waste time filling out an entire registration just to do a simple search?...
The "waste of time" is your complaining about it (which probably took longer than the actual registration).

...I hope you don't mind my lurking around and asking seemingly random questions.
After you use the "Search" function, of course.

You're confused because you think in linear time, dear. God lives outside time, and so is not constrained to such limitations. To you, "backwards thinking" means holding onto ideas that have long since been abandoned by society in general, replaced with increasingly updated ideas born from new information and inspired by novel ideas shared through trade and exploration. To God, "backwards thinking" is the same as "forwards thinking" or even "stagnant thinking!" You don't think God was unaware of any of these ideas society would have eventually developed, do you? If He wanted to include ideas we consider modern, ideas such as rights guaranteed to civilians equally across the board, or protection of children as they are most vulnerable to physical and emotional abuse, He would have dictated them into the Holy Bible. Goodness, it's almost like you think His thoughts were limited to ideas formed only against the backdrop of a bronze age social code of conduct! But that would mean He wouldn't know what we know today, and that would mean He's not really God, but a figment of the imagination of a culture that lived in the Near Middle East many centuries ago. And if that's true, then how could the Scriptures be inspired by a divine, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent being (2 Timothy 3:16)? It can't have been, and so your point is moot.

    1) Your church, denomination, and the length of time you've been a Christian
    2) Your favourite Bible passage
    3) How you came to be Saved by Jesus

In any case, I hope you enjoy your time here.

If this is true than this is a good question: In Matthew 7:7 Jesus doesn´t mention registering if you want to seek. Perhaps it has to do with tithing?

    Greetings, Landrover Church.

I had recently taken my computer in for repairs, so I am forced to use a public computer at the local library. This website was on the screen when I sat down. I've looked around a bit and, while I'm extremely appalled and disturbed by the amount of backwards-thinking and anti-semitism here, it's fascinating how such views can not only still be around in the 21st Century, but that they're shared by such a large group in one place!
