Question for you all. It would appear judging by your responses and the information you have provided, that all (or at least most) of you believe the bible to be true in a literal sense, i.e no interpretation necessary. Is there anything to be taken as metaphor? The book of revelation appears to be written in a metaphoric sense, or do you guys read it in the literal sense?

Inventive by me? No friend, not at all. You see, I used to fly commercial and had to spend many hours doing layovers. Not a day went by when a pilot would offer to let me handle his controls and 'throttle up' and operate his 'joystick'. Quite a few times, in my Christian naivety I was taken advantage of.
