POPE! Not Poop, Pope. Actually, the Church ruled that since head coverings were not a matter of faith, one was not required to wear or not wear them. Obviously numerous people keep this tradition, but 1 is not required to.

One of my favorite bible passages is about how the head of every man is the Christ. And that men that pray with a head covering shames him. It is found in 1 Corinthians 11:3-4 - "But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head."
