    Hi there.

    My name is Jared.
I'm an 18 year old male residing in Richmond, VA.
I attend a nondenominational Church of Christ focused on living out the Bible and saving as many as possible. The translation we use is the NIV.

I saw a question in another introduction topic asking a favorite scripture. Mine would have to be, "4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails..."
    1Corinthians 13:4-8

    Re: Hi there.

Hello Jared. If you want to be fed lies, as your username admits, you've come to the wrong place. We serve only premium grade TRUTH here, straight from the mouth of GOD to yours!

Tell us a little more about yourself. Do you play sports? What kind of sports? How tall are you? How much do you weigh? What color eyes?

We are always looking for soldiers for CHRIST to fight in whatever (mostly figurative) battlefields He sees fit to dispatch us to.

However, I'm very concerned that you rely on a liberalized NIV version of the Bible and call yourself nondenominational. But with an open mind, you will soon see the one TRUTH that GOD has given us, and you can mend your ways.

On a side note, I know what it is like to be a young man. You're at the age when unwholesome thoughts may be starting to enter your mind, luring you into horrifying temptations of the flesh. Please, if you feel the Spirit of the LORD compelling you, share with us the depraved and sinful thoughts that ooze through your steaming lustful mind; leave nothing out, as our prayers must be accurately tailored to your needs.

I lead a local youth group, and you wouldn't believe some of the vile confessions that I graciously listen to -and in some cases record for future review- just to carry an exhausted and drained young man to the foot of the cross for precious healing. GLORY TO GOD!

I was never really a sports fan but I do enjoy recreational activities.
5'11, 155 lbs, blonde hair, blue eyes.
Either way, whatever translation, God calls us higher to do what is needed. Right?

Oh my, it's an everyday battle. It annoys me sometimes too.

Our church has a youth group too comprised of rising high schoolers and high schoolers. Our leaders encourage us to be open and confess about wrongdoing so it may be corrected and prevented.

I will let you know if I have any struggles. Thank you for you concern.

My word, you sound like a very mature and healthy young man! There's nothing like a young warrior for CHRIST in his prime and ready for combat!

Perhaps me and my youth group could visit your church sometime on one of our singspirations. It would be a pleasure to perform for you, fellowship with you and your friends and hang out in the big van we travel in. I think our groups would build each other up.

I'm glad you have access to supportive, caring older people who take a healthy interest in your sexual behavior. It can make all the difference, amen?

PS, if you do share your struggles with us, please post them in the men's only forum so that the weaker sex remain undefiled.

Well, Jared, I see that your username is appropriate.

Your so-called "Pastor", using the New Infidel perVersion, has been feeding you lies all your life.

Here's a wonderful article on the subject: http://www.parousiahope.co.ke/Bible-...ns/NIVXKJV.pdf

Allow me to quote a taste for you:

WHY I DO NOT USE THE N.I.V. IN SOUL-WINNING WORK.

I get no scarcity of questions on the Bible. These questions come by phone - many by long distance; by visitors; and by mail. Many of the questions are regarding the confusing flood of new versions of the Bible. This is especially true in respect to the "New International Version," commonly-referred to as the N.I.V. Seeing the N.I.V. is now being urged by many, I am repeatedly asked as to why I do not also advocate the use of the N.I.V. version and use it in my work of soul-winning.

As I believe it is my duty to give an answer, I will endeavour to pass on some clear and straight-forward reasons why I do not use the N.I.V. and never intend to use the N.I.V. in place of the time honoured and sure King James Version.

LUKE 4:4 Here it is in the King James Version, but in the N.I.V. the underlined words are cut out.

ST. LUKE 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is ritten, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Luke 4:4 is not the only place where parts of the Word of God have been "cut out." There are literally hundreds of omissions in the N.I V.

This omission in Luke 4:4 makes the statement of Jesus of little sense. "But by every word of God." Now we have it.

The Scriptures are to stay. The Word of God is to feed us. We are to live by the Scriptures. Here Jesus is in conflict with the devil and in this statement our Lord is revealing the efficient weapon against sin and Satan.

Is it not significant that this very mutilated version of Scripture cuts out the very passage that condemns it. This omitted passage condemns the N.I.V.

Note again that our Divine Guide is showing that man is to live by "every word of God." If "every word" is vital and we need "every word" what can be said in favour of a professed version that omits a whole verse? Not only that but omits scores of passages. I will never use in my work a mutilated version, no matter how popular it may be. The "Scripture of Truth" closes with these important words:-

          REV.22:19
"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

I would fear to stand before the judgment bar of God if I knowingly had used and upheld a version that had taken away from the Word of God.

We should remember also that this solomn warning against taking "away from the words" of God's Holy Book as given by none other than our Lord Himself.

          Jesus clearly states:
          REV.22:20

"He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus."

It is Jesus who says "Surely I come quickly." He is the One Who testifies these warning words.

          Rev 22:16

"I Jesus have sent mine angel, to testify unto you these things in the churches." Our Lord leaves us in no doubt. Without Jesus the Bible would never have existed or been written. Jesus gave it to us. it is vital. So Jesus warns against taking away any of His words. "Every word" counts. He declared we are to live "by every word of God."

This extensive article provides hundreds of verse-by-verse comparisons, showing how the NIV denies the divinity of Jesus and twists the Word of God into the Word of Satan.

            Re: Hi there.

Jared, son, I am just about your age. Please listen to me. The United Church of Christ is a cult, and is actually soon going to be called "Obamanity" or "Obamaism". I suggest you get out now while you can.
Don't EVER read the NIV, it damns the soul to Hell. Click the link in my signature, it will take you to a good Christian page and you can learn about how dangerous the Catholic and other Bibles are. You will go to Hell if you read those Bibles.

I think I pity you. I know you have the love of God and eternal life in Heaven with Him, but it seems rather sad, missing some of the things that you must think are 'wrong-doings'. I suppose it depends. What do you mean by this?

I see you resurrected an old post. Are you making a mockery of the LORD JESUS?

By resurrecting an old post? Oh I get it! It's because Jesus was the only one to be reborn. That's good!
