    Hello

I am Osiris. I used to go to a church called Amazing Grace, a Pentecostal church in Ireland by Elim Ministries. My favorite part of the bible is Ezekiel 16:26. I am an Egyptologist in training, hence my name, Osiris. As to how I came to discover Jesus, I was walking by a bunch of guys handing out pamphlets one of them had a mic and was preaching the gospel. [Homosexual music links deleted]

So I searched for True Christians like the preacher in that video and my search brought me here. That's my introduction.

    Re: Hello

Greetings Osiris. I am very pleased to make your acquaintance. I am also from an island that was once owned by the English. They are gone now but they left their language which is English. I have heard of the Black Irish. They are Black men but they are from Ireland where everyone in the pictures seems to have red hair and freckles and they are white men. Why do your pictures never show Black Irish? It seems to be very racist to me.

You're from Ireland, huh? Welcome, O'Siris!

It was a wise move to leave the Pentecostalists. Which church do you go to now? I hope you're not a Cathoholic like every other Mick I've met.

Don't leave out the best part about finding Jesus -- finding Jesus!

After that, I found a guy on YouTube called Kerrigan Skelly, who is definatley a True Christian. He uploads videos of him giving people the raw truth. He preached the gospel and told people the harsh truth they didn't want to hear; that they are sinners and must give up the sin they love so much and turn to Jesus in order to be saved. I came across this website and decided to join in! Now, I'm currently not attending any churches now, since there are no bapist churches in Ireland, but maybe one day, I'll start one based on the teachings of Landover Baptist Church! There are too many Catholics here that need to here the truth! Oh and by the way, I tried to post Kerrigan Skelly's videos here but the links got deleted as the website claimed they are homosexual music videos.

Hello, and welcome to our friendly forums! How exciting to know about ancient Egypt! I think that must be tremendously fascinating! Have you stood on the site from where the LORD called Jesus (Matthew 2:15)? When I was a little girl, our mothers would call us children in from playing out doors (especially in the warm, summer months when the sun would stay out late), to announce it was dinner time, or time to come in and get ready for bed. I always wondered if the LORD called Jesus like that, or how it might have sounded. Do you think His voice echoed against the pyramids? Thank goodness the prophet didn't talk about calling Jesus out of Mexico, or every other little boy would have thought he was being called. You know, because they like to name their boys Jesus? Maybe that's why the LORD didn't introduce Jesus to the Mexicans until the 1490s, He knew they can't be trusted with important things. Goodness, I can't wait until Mr. Trump is president and we finally have a wall across the entirety of Mexico. I hope he can build one around San Francisco, too.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

            My sentiments, exactly, Sister.

It is wonderful to have an expert in the Egyptian things on the Forum.

            Mr. Osiris,
            • Do you think that your namesake was an actual demon (pre-or post-flood?) or just someone possessed by evil spirits (Mark 3:11)?
            • Are you familiar with the recent developments in Biblical History that prove the Bible once and for all by having determined that the pyramids were built by Joseph for grain storage?

This is one of the Josephian pyramids. Glory!
            • What are your opinions on "the Shasu of Yhw" (t3 š3św jhw3) as further proof for Biblical inerrancy?

Wonderful to have you here to learn about Jesus and perhaps (perhaps) to teach us also a thing or two about ancient Egypt, the country that Jesus visited in his corporeal youth when He was still Baby Jesus, Jesus Son of God.

            Matthew 2:14
When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:

Welcome! Jesus must have led you here!

                    Dear Friend,

Of course there is a chance but it is minute.

                    Let us see:

                    • Sirius. This one is Latin and derives from the Greek Σείριος meaning "scorching" or "destructive". The name reflects the fact that it is the brightest non-moving star on the Firmament. This is thus an Indo-European word (a proto-language that originated during Genesis 11:9)
                    • Osiris. This one is again a loan-word in Latin but this time it derives only indirectly from the Hellenic Greek Ὄσιρις (but originally from the Egyptian language). We do not how how ancient Egyptian was vocalized, so the pronunciation of this word (Wsjr, suggested vocalizations are Asar, Yasar, Aser, Asaru, Ausar, Ausir, Wesir, Usir, Usire or Ausare) remains unknown. The meaning is also different from that of Sirius and most probably it was based on the meaning "powerful". Egyptian is a Semitic language and, thus, not of the same branch as the Indo-European language from the Tower of Babel.

                    Genesis 11:9
Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

To conclude: the similarities between Sirius and Osiris are circumstantial and do not reflect true cognates.

                    Yours in Christ,

                    Elmer

That's a common misconception about the whole Egyptian culture. It's been around for thousands of years before the Arabs invaded. Only now, in these modern times is Egypt considered an Arabic nation.
