  • A generally curious part-believer

I've always been curious of the Christian religion, I'm here for a reasonable debate on the Christian religion and how it has affected the world, I believe he is there and he is good, the only thing that has ever made me question his power is the state of this world, I have personally questioned believers who have sinned due to their interpretations of the Holy Bible, I personally believe we should interpret the Holy Bible as it is meant to be interpreted, and never to do so to give ourselves more power, we have all sinned, we are Human, it is natural, to say otherwise would be a big What has always confused me the most is how many Christians, if not all of them, do not like, or some claim, they hate, Muslims, as I have learned of many religions in depth in studies, I've come across the fact that they believe in 'Allah' which translates to god, as to which I ask, why? I've never fully understood why and I was hoping one of the nice folks here would be able to explain it, thanks for taking your time to read this! All the Best,

Greetings Raistron. If you are seeking out Christians who follow the word of Jah exactly as it is written in the Bible I think you have come to the right place. I myself have a few doctrinal differences with these fine people but we all agree that the word of Jah is to be found in the King James Version of the Holy Bible. This will answer most of your questions. It is like a rule book that everyone has to follow. These people are white people of the Baptist type and they do not believe that Jesus was a Black man. Since I am currently under rebuke I will leave it at that.
Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: Extol him that rideth upon the heavens By his name JAH, and rejoice before him.-Psalms 68:4

Good grief, there is so much wrong with your post I hardly know where to begin.

      1. I don't hate Muslims, GOD hates Muslims because they reject His Son.

      2. I don't "interpret" the Bible, I follow it TO THE LETTER.

      3. God doesn't refer to Himself as Allah, so why should anyone else? How would you like it if I started calling you Betsy for no good reason?

      Yours in Christ,

That probably is her name. She hasn't told us otherwise. Neither has she told us which church she attends, what her favorite part of the Bible is, how she found God, how many children have issued from her etc. In other words, no introduction at all.
Betsy, do you normally walk into people's living rooms, make yourself at home on their sofa and then ask personal questions without even introducing yourself?

Hello there, Raistron! I think these are important things to discuss indeed. Nevertheless, may I recommend that you use paragraphs to clarify your posts?

I believe he is there and he is good,
          Why?

Have you ever had a history lesson? If the answer is yes, then I assume that you've used it as Facebook time, as many of my undergrad students do. A short version of a history lesson: it's really bad and it's been always bad. If God is God why would He allow people to commit multiple genocides in His name?

the only thing that has ever made me question his power is the state of this world,
Then is He real or isn't He? If you think God is real but powerless then it's like not having a God at all - why pray to somebody who cannot help you anyway?

I have personally questioned believers who have sinned due to their interpretations of the Holy Bible, I personally believe we should interpret the Holy Bible as it is meant to be interpreted,
Let me guess: and you are the one and only winner who actually KNOWS how the Bible should be interpreted. Congratulations. You're feeling what every single Christian reformer felt over the last 2000 years.

and never to do so to give ourselves more power, we have all sinned, we are Human, it is natural, to say otherwise would be a big What has always confused me the most is how many Christians, if not all of them, do not like, or some claim, they hate, Muslims,
And Jews, and all other types of infidels, and women, and homosexuals, and most of humanity, actually. Sorry to disappoint you, but the source of all of that hate is the Holy Bible.

as I have learned of many religions in depth in studies, I've come across the fact that they believe in 'Allah' which translates to god, as to which I ask, why?
Because they don't think that Jesus is God. Instead, they follow teachings of a prophet who is not recognized as such by Christianity. That makes them destined for eternal damnation (someone more versed in the Bible can provide you with appropriate citation).

I've never fully understood why and I was hoping one of the nice folks here would be able to explain it, thanks for taking your time to read this! All the Best,
          Raistron
All the best to you as well.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

As to deal with number 1, I said most, but thank you for giving me the reason why, if it is only in 3 words, 2, I never said you interpreted it, so don't take offence, I was stating that some do, and I believe that is wrong, as to 3, I'm a Male so I would take offence to that due to it being a Female name, otherwise, it would not bother me as the name I use has been given to me, I have not chosen it.

As to Jim's post, My name is Eric, I have attended each church in my town and found almost each and everyone of them interprets the bible instead of taking it as it is, I don't play favorites, nor should someone feel they are entitled specifically to know what it might be, and I've no kids, as to your last question, no, I do not, though I would like to answer that with my own question, Do you normally act like this to other's? Or am I just a special case where you felt acting the way you did was necessary.
            All the Best,

Dolores, thank you for giving me a reasonable response to my questions! Though, I feel personally I am well versed in History, there is much that I do not know and I accept that. And I do not believe I am the only person who knows how to interpret it, nor do I believe that the way I interpret it is the only right way, I take the Holy Bible as it has been written, and not specifically to make myself right, and thank you very much for giving me a more in-depth answer!

              All the best,

                Re: A generally curious part-believer

Welcome, Raistron. I should start by telling you that this is not a debate site, in regard to your stated purpose. We are Christians who come here for fellowship and praise. If you seek salvation, then you are truly welcome here. If you are saved, you are welcome here. If you are in mind to provoke Christians, as so many seemingly are, don't waste your time or ours either. The unsaved are not welcome here.
Why don't you tell us about your thoughts of Jesus?
God judgeth the righteous, And God is angry with the wicked every day- Psalm 7:11
