You're confused, dear. Morals are about doing what's right. What kind of parent would neglect doing what's right by their child?

A negligent, selfish one who hates and resents their children, that's what kind.

What you don't know is that God, who invented morals in the first place, tells us in His Holy Bible just what kind of parenting is the most moral kind:

He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
Proverbs 13:24
(The Lord thy God tells us that if you don't beat your child with a rod, it is because you hate him. If, on the other hand, you genuinely love your child, you will have no moral objection to beating him with a rod.)

(The Infallible Word of God assures us that children are foolish creatures naturally. They can't help it. Moral parents don't unleash ignorant, useless, helpless warm bodies into society simply to leach off the resources gathered by hard working Christian men and women. Moral parents prepare their children for productive service to their fellow men, and most importantly, to the LORD.

I think you will find that if you do your research properly into true morals you will find that seriously rebellious children should actually be killed. Beating them is the only way to avoid this.
