    hey there :)

My name is Alanna and I'm Catholic but I like to learn about other faiths and talk about religion in general. Not sure what else to write, but my favorite bible verse is probably Matthew 5:16 "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven."

    I'm so sorry.

Have you did you know Jesus? I hope it wasn't a priest telling you to touch the flesh of Jesus or similar. If it was that way, please know that it wasn't your fault.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMP of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

Haha, thankfully not. I can't exactly say if I ever didn't know Him. For as long as I can remember I've had my faith. Church every Sunday and 13 years of Catholic school.

Hi It's nice to see you taking an interest in Christianity. There are many wonderful examples in The Bible for us to follow as well as commandments we ignore at our peril. I am particularly fond of Deborah. You can read about her in Judges 4 and 5.

Judges is such a beautiful picture of just how much God's love means to those who keep His commandments.

Welcome, Annabelle. I noticed in another thread that you said you were a Christian. Imagine my dismay when I discovered that you are actually a Roman Catholic. The Lord has given clear directions that there is to be no idol worshipping (Exodus 20:4-5), yet that is the practice of the Romans, them who slew sweet Jesus up on Golgotha. This behavior could easily explain your red hair. Praying to plaster saints and pictures of the mother of Jesus will not bring you salvation. I urge to throw off the Roman yoke and get right with Jesus. It's that or Hell, Annabelle. Don't go there; it's too hot.

My apologies, we are taught that as Catholics we are Christians but I will make the distinction from now on. I probably won't be turning away from my faith anytime soon but I will certainly respect those of the people on here and I am grateful for being allowed to learn and share

By the way, my name is Alanna, not Annabelle, just for clarification lol

              Dear Sinner,

It is always a pleasure to see how Jesus still guides those who reject Him to visit our Forums in the hope of Saving them! You're here now! This is the safe haven of the Interwebs in the midst of fornication and blasphemy. I am exceedingly glad that you are - finally - a Catholic person who admits that it is a cult in direct opposition to Christianity™.

You can learn so much here!

              1 Thessalonians 3:10
Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

Perhaps you are also the person who will finally really think about the main differences between your cult and True Christianity™ and be actually willing to discuss them. I am, of course, referring to the blasphemies of your Pope Frances, whom you see as infallible and who constantly undermines the basic concepts of Christianity™: The Faith in Christ! It is exactly this Christ-part of Faith that you Catholics dismiss by accepting...
              • ...atheist salvation (Catholics don't have to believe anything and you still can go into Heaven; Jesus disagrees in John 3:18).
              • ...Muslim and Jew salvation (you can deny the Trinity and the Divine Nature of Christ and still go into heaven; Jesus disagrees in John 3:15-18).
              • ...evolution (you can disregard the Fall [Genesis 3:6] and the Flood and the need to reconciliation, i.e., Jesus CHRIST; He disagrees in John 3:16-18).
What exactly does your cult say about being Saved? The above examples show that Jesus is not among the prerequisites, nor is the Bible, as the Bible actually does say that you need Jesus!

              John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I am sure that if you learn and persist you can also start to understand what the Bible and Jesus are all about!

Annabelle, I believe that it is no accident that you found this site. I imagine that you did not wake up this morning and think to yourself that you would check out the Baptists today. No, you just happened on this site and I believe it was the Lord God Himself who guided you. Sing Hallelujah!

You are not the first who stumbled among us, spiritually malnourished and looking for something. That something is Jesus, Annabelle. Give yourself over to Him and know true peace. There is only one way, Annabelle and it is a straight and narrow path. It leads not to Roman alters, but to Heaven one day with God and Jesus.

Seek ye then congress with the Lord Himself and not the self appointed priests of the Roman harlot. Accept Jesus as your personal savior and follow the rules (which are many) found in the King James Version of God's Holy Word.

                  God Bless!

This is wonderful! It would mean that you're not a Catholic after all! I hope that you claimed your Catholic affiliation from ignorance and not because you tried to mislead us!

                    Proverbs 12:22
Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.

That said, the part of your doctrine that allows Salvation without Jesus is actually not invented by Frances but an integral part of your beliefs, as it is written in the Catholic Catechism, the manual for Catholics on how to believe.
841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator,in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."
Thus, you choose Muslim Faith over Jesus! Would you be kind enough to comment on that, the principal handbook of your religion. You see, the difference is as follows:
                    • Do you think that Jesus is necessary for Salvation (= True Christianity™)?
                    • Or is it OK if you kinda believe in Jesus but think that He is unnecessary for Salvation (=Catholicism)?

Because so few visitors have the courage, tolerance and intellectual honesty required for a truly hard-core examination of the Bible, we don't often encounter many who stay around for very long.

As a result, some of our dear sensitive members try to limit their emotional involvement by not remembering names correctly.

It's how they keep from investing too much hope that someone such as yourself will take the time to read the verses that we lay out and realize that the God revealed by the ancient words of the Bible isn't the giant-sized, bearded best friend that modern culture has reduced Him to.

The real God of the complete Bible is tough, but not always fair. But then, He doesn't have to be, because He made up the rules. He is very hands on, so to speak, and gives us a lot of detailed, emphatic instructions. Even better, He doesn't hint around with vague threats about what can happen if you don't follow His commands.

Even people who don't believe in God have to agree that His judgments are epic. But then again, the themes of life and death, the fate of the planet and the future of all humankind don't make for light reading.

The problem for most people who call themselves Christians is that they worship a Ziggy cartoon of a deity. They pick out short, easy-to-read verses that make them smile and think on a cheery little insight. That is not the One True God of the Bible.

So, welcome to the forum, feel free to cross check any verses we cite to make certain that we aren't misquoting them and prepare to dig deep. You can't just dip your toes into the water, here. You have to immerse yourself in a full body baptism and see what lies beneath the waters.

I certainly didn't mean to mislead, so indeed, it was ignorance. Upon consulting the Catechism, I realize that I am supposed to believe in the infallibility of the Pope's teachings but his personal theological opinions are by no means infallible. This issue of respect and being held to his ideas causes me great internal conflict.

As to your question, I absolutely believe that the is no salvation without Jesus Christ. I understand the Catechism's view on Islam but I don't agree with the idea that we are somehow the same just because our shared heritage in Abraham. I attend college with many members of the Muslim faith and although I don't go out of my way to engage them in discussion of faith or anything like that, I am polite from afar. I've had quite a few instances wherein some of my Muslim classmates have been extremely disrespectful towards me because of my faith or simply because I'm a woman, but I stay silent and don't take anything they might do or say to heart. In my opinion, Sharia Law is in total conflict with the Constitution of the United States and I do not approve of their culture. I can't judge them but I don't have to be friends with them.

The link between catholicism and mohammedanism is the worship of idols. Christians - and Abraham - worship no idols.

Greetings Alanna! I welcome you to this forum. I am also not a Baptist. I am Rastafari and only recently arrived here in Babylon from my home which is Jamaica to pursue my education. I am also a student at university like you having formerly attended The University of Wisconsin at Madison Wisconsin and currently on sabbatical as I assist in the election of Hillary Clinton who is to be the President of America. I will resume my studies in January at Georgetown University which is near Washington D.C. where I will be working at the American State Department. Where do you go to school?

I have made a study of white girls as part of my education in Babylon and I am wondering- Are you truly a witch? These white people do not like witches. Jah has said that we must not tolerate any witches at all. The word can be found in Exodus 22:15 which is the Holy Bible. It says Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. I hope you are not a witch.
