    Save me please

    Im a dedicated atheist/humanist and i just had a few questions.

    1. Why do you believe so strongly in the bible, there is no proof that it is really the word of god.


    2.Why are you so certain that your religion is the real one. Have you not given any thought into the 100's of other types of religions.


    3.While i appreciate freedom of speech and the right to worship and agree that they are important rules in society, why choose to use these opportunities for hate.


    Just a few questions as i'm curious, i'm not trying to put down your ways of thinking.

    1. If God didn't write the Bible, then who did?
    2. We follow the Bible, the word of God.
    3. Excuse me, but we do not "hate" anybody. We may correct them and their sins, but we do not "hate" anybody.

        Sorry, I am a 16 year old from California who moved to England 3 years ago.

        Now according to historians the bible was written by 40 authors over a period of about 1,500 years. Now I think that while some of the major messages are the same which could prove that it is gods word, their are also a lot of contradictions.


        An example is in the biblical account of creation:
        Genesis 1:11-12 and 1:26-27Trees camebeforeAdam.
        Genesis 2:4-9 Trees came after Adam.
        Genesis 1:20-21 and 26-27 Birds were created before Adam.
        Genesis 2:7 and 2:19 Birds were created after Adam.
        Genesis 1:24-27 Animals were created before Adam.
        Genesis 2:7 and 2:19 Animals were created after Adam.
        Genesis 1:26-27 Adam and Eve were created at the same time.
        Genesis 2:7 and 2:21-22 Adam was created first, woman sometime later.
        Genesis 1:31 God was pleased with his creation.
        Genesis 6:5-6 God was not pleased with his creation.
        Now as for hate speech in your forums. Preaching the word of god does not mean you are a hate group, but telling people that they are going to hell for their beliefs does.


        Also you the I think the church is legally labelled as a hate group.

              It wasn't your grammar I was commenting on (no guarantees I won't if you keep tempting me with crap like "try and avoid"), but that of the website you referenced. For example:

              "Genesis 2:7 and 2:19 Animals were created after Adam."

              Genesis 2:19 does not say that God created any animals after Adam, simply that He had created animals and brought them to Adam to be named. Yes, the phrasing is kind of ambiguous to modern ears, but that fact does not allow one to pick an interpretation and then state that it's the only possible one.

              Why haven't you read the Bible yet? You really should.

                I don't believe you want to be Saved. I think you just want to argue. The thing is dear, this is not a debate forum. We are right and Jesus is on our side because we are on His.

                  I don't understand why you are here? You posed some questions, but you seem unwilling to listen to the answers to your questions. If you decided in advance that you don't accept what Landover Baptist Church represents, then why would you come here to seemingly pick a fight?
