Fill us in David. What church do you attend? What sin have been wallowing in? Don't spare us the details, we've heard it all before.

In what way are you "brave" boy?

The title's just fun. I'm no braver than anyone else - except to see that my dope-smoking liberal excesses were wrecking my life. I am very different after 6 months in a church. It's sort of "progressive". That's the best way to describe it. And it has done a lot for me.

What's the name of this "progressive" church, son?

I don't believe that I've heard of that one....

It is a church in New Jersey with Pentecostal roots. On paper at least. I can't really say more, sir, without revealing too much. It has done a lot for me in every way, and turned my whole life around.

Well, we don't hold much with the Pantycostals. Do they have you speaking in tongues and kissing snakes?

This is a serious problem for you boy. Right now, you're about as Saved as a doorpost. You've been duped into joining a false Christian church. Take a look at THIS thread.

You've already revealed that you're being led astray by a mob of false "Christians". It would seem that they've turned your life around a full 360°, from hellbound to hellbound.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Methodists are a bunch a baby baptising, altar boy loving, gown wearing wierdos. I am sure that page will be filled properly soon.

                            Re: Hi

What's wrong with baptising babies? In Acts 16:15 and 1 Corinthians 1:16 the families of believing men were baptised in accordance with the beliefs if the master of their household. I am the master of my household thus I felt it appropriate to chose to baptise my son shortly after he was born. I do see your poinnt how a majority of other accounts in the Bible treat baptism as a event which should only occur with willful deliberance. this is a topic I'll be looking further into

And as far as gowns are concerned:

When describing the origional garb required of his priests as the first Temple was being made to His name, God writes in Exodus 28:4

"And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office."

The robes were required wear back then, no shame at all to keep the tradition rolling.

As far as the boy loving? Methodists don't have altar boys, that's a Catholic song and dance.
