So as you have been reading the Bible, which parts did convince you to follow Jesus? Was it the homophobia, xenophobia, misogyny, justification of genocide, or the embrace of slavery?... Or was it God's love of human suffering in general that spoke to you...?


Personally, I'm still torn and unsure how can I follow such a cruel God... But I know that I will burn in Hell forever for having this doubt...

Hey, actually they did force us to learn the Arabic Language, they treated us all like slaves, every single one of us, I had to defend myself with a colt anaconda .44 magnum revolver, however I didn't kill anybody, as I knew if I did, I was sure to go to hell. I tried my best to defend them by teaching them the path to a greater world, and for now, I am safe and I am sure I am protected by something, God Bless!

We expect odd behavior from the English. All Christians and most even vaguely normal Englishmen decamped for America long ago, leaving a far weaker strain to cope with the forces of Satan. That said, I still have no idea what you are trying to do. Also, I have been studying that picture you have posted of yourself. I'm sorry, but there is no way that is an Englishman. And as knowledgable followers of the Bible, we are difficult to shock.

I was just talking to a young woman yesterday who had never heard of the story of Lot. Now, she did seem shocked when I explained that Lot told a crowd of lust-crazed perverts that they could have his two daughters to rape if they would just leave his gentlemen dinner guests alone.

If you read the actual verses, Snake Eye, you will see that Lot emphasizes his daughters' virginity when he offers them to the crowd. One can only assume that he thought they would only be more enticed to commit gang rape on his daughters instead of his guests if they knew their victims were virgins. And that just shows how stupid they were, since only the first rapist to force himself on each girl would have a virgin to violate. The rest would have to make do with "sloppy seconds"(or fortieths, depending upon how many of them there were.)

One way or the other, Lot was determined to protect the fellows who had come to rest and refresh themselves under his roof. And God rewarded him for his priorities by making sure that Lot got out of that horrible town safely. Can you just imagine? Threatening to rape some innocent young men who were sitting down to enjoy a nice meal?


Now, THAT is shocking.

Thank you for your guiding wisdom, Dr. I've been wondering why this poster hasn't mentioned Jesus or what he's done for Jesus or how grateful he is that Jesus hasn't smited him. Instead, I feel like I'm supposed to feel guilty for not acting like a pansy and bowing and grovelling to every person I see. What kind of behavior is that for royalty (2 Corinthians 6:18)?

This is what happens when the Bible(KJV1611) is banded from schools and prayer is replaced with the homersexualism: Jesus' most temporary Sacrifice is forgotten and the Ataris and the Nintendos are all the young folk want.

When I think of all those clean limbed young youths playing with each other in their bed rooms I become quite enflamed with the power of Jesus to bring them into the embrace of the Lord!

Indeed, Sister. Why, I still recall the look one of my youngsters gave me when we first read the story of Jephthah’s Daughter. Oh the look of sheer terror and incredulity on his innocent, trusting little face! To imagine the father would actually honor his vow made in haste and desperation and sacrifice his beloved child after a victory that could have easily have been attributed to greater skill rather than petition to the LORD to spare his innocent daughter! The buggy eyes filled rapidly with tears, and he quickly bolted away and ran to a dark corner where he cried and cried! That, dear Snake Eye, was an example of being shocked! No, you cannot shock us. True Christians™ are curators of the Truth™ and connoisseurs of God's Word. You'll have to do much more to shock us.

Sister Mary, there is no more shining example of someone so devoted to the study of His Word than a True Christian Lady® like yourself who is willing to memorize the name "Jephthah".


I tend to use the example of Lot when attempting to communicate the real cost of uncompromising love and obedience towards the Lord. But that is only because my weak nature makes it easier for me to remember Lot's name over Jephthah's.


It really is the province of our learned pastors to decide if burning one daughter is a sign of greater devotion that tossing out two of them to a ravenous gathering to be raped possibly a hundred times or more. Perhaps we will have to wait until we enter into our heavenly refuge to learn which offer was more pleasing in God's Holy Eyes.



The one thing that we do know from an examination of the text is that God did not offer any condemnation of ether man, which tends to be the reaction of foolish, immoral unbelievers. Not only is there not a word to be found anywhere in the entire Bible that suggests that the Lord disapproved of the actions of either father, the fact is that both men were richly blessed by Him.


Not only did neither fellow allow a maudlin attachment to his female offspring to stand between himself and doing right in the Lord's Eyes, but all three of the young ladies were noted to be virgins according to the narrative. Of course, Lot's daughters certainly would not have remained so if he had not been prevented from carrying out his intentions by circumstances. And those of us who have bothered to read the Bible know that their virginity was lost under other circumstances. But Jephthah's daughter died "intact" as it were.


Either way, both men are to be commended for keeping a close eye on their respective daughters' virtue. They, too, are a shining example of devotion to God and a comforting reminder of good old fashioned morals and decency. It's really sad how far the world has turned away from such values. . . But it's not shocking.


Because we have been forewarned about the increase of evil during the end times. Any truly discerning person can see how far we have come from a time when a godly man knew not to let anything come between him and his allegiance to The One True God.


Nowadays, most people don't even have the commitment to read all of God's Word, much less obey it. But we here at Landover Baptist know the consequences for those who refuse to read it all and obey it all. That is why our lives have been so much changed and why we devote so much of our time to sharing that Truth™ with a world that is largely illiterate of scripture.
