    Why all the hate?

I would just like to know why there’s so much hate on this site. I’m a member of the LDS church and I’ve been told all my life that God loves all men. I just don’t understand why you guys think that gay people deserve to die. Did God not give us free will? If they are gay then they’ll burn in hell for it, so why is there the need to go out and hold rallies just to show how sinful they are? Shouldn’t we accept all people no matter who they are? Jesus could see the good in any man and treated all men equal...should we not do the same?

Why you poor, misled soul! No wonder you're confused! You've been taught to believe the assurances of man while never considering the actual Word of God Almighty Himself. "God loves everyone" is the greatest lie ever told! Why, you might as well say "God Is Imaginary, just do Nice Things and treat your fellow man with courtesy and respect!" As nice a sentiment as you may think that is, it certainly isn't in line with God's Opinion:
And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you:
for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.
    Leviticus 20:23

And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images,
and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols,
and my soul shall abhor you.
    Leviticus 26:30

And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them,
because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.
    Deuteronomy 32:19

The foolish shall not stand in thy sight:
thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
    Psalm 5:5

Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing:
the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
    Psalm 5:6

For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous,
    whom the LORD abhorreth.
    Psalm 10:3

    The LORD trieth the righteous:
but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
    Psalm 11:5

There were they in great fear, where no fear was:
for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee:
thou hast put them to shame,
    because God hath despised them.
    Psalm 53:5

When God heard this, he was wroth,
    and greatly abhorred Israel:
    Psalm 78:59

Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people,
insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
    Psalm 106:40

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
    Proverbs 6:16-19

The mouth of strange women is a deep pit:
he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.
    Proverbs 22:14

And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden:
he hath destroyed his places of the assembly:
the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion,
and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.
    Lamentations 2:6-7

All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them:
for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house,
I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.
    Hosea 9:15

    Three shepherds also I cut off in one month;
and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.
    Zechariah 11:8

And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
    Malachi 1:3

As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
    Romans 9:13

    Still think God loves everyone?

God has compassion on those whom He will have compassion (Romans 9:15), and loves those who do His bidding (John 15:10). The Holy Bible says nothing about loving everyone (go ahead and look for yourself if you don't believe me), or that man can lead a sinful life, violate the commandments of God daily, not fear Him and still go to Heaven so long as he holds affection for Jesus in his heart (Matthew 5:17; James 2:10). No. The Word is quite clear. Don't be mad at the messenger if you don't care for the message.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

      Well...
Perhaps I confuse God with The Lord Jesus. After all, where I come from, Jesus loves all men, regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexuallity.
God wants us not to fear Him, but to love Him. We are all His children. God loves everyone. If you want to live your life full of hatered and intolerance, then go ahead. But, when your time comes, I urge you to take The Lord Jesus’ hand and step truly into the light.

You literally ignored all the examples I shared with you of Jesus professing His hatred towards individuals and people who behave in certain ways. I daresay, your faith must be terribly fragile to completely ignore the Word of God where it refuses to conform with your own moral code. What's more important to you - following the Word of God or following your own conscience?

For others reading, I'll answer in more detail.

God wants us not to fear Him
Except for when He wants us to fear Him:
And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
        Jude 1:23
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
        Ecclesiastes 12:13
Read the second half of the 28th chapter of Deuteronomy to see a list of threats the LORD promises to hurl at those who do not keep His commandments.

        but to love Him
Love is Obedience in Jesus' Love Language. And those who are not obedient are not going to be called to live with Him for eternity.
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
        John 14:23

Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
        John 8:51
        We are all His children.
That's rather horrifying! You see, Jesus promises that those whose names are not written in the Book of Life will experience an eternity of torture and horror (Matthew 13:41-42; Revelation 20:15). What kind of parent would do that to their child?

No, Christ assures us the only way to become children of God is to be Born Again in faith (John 3:3), not simply to exist.

If you want to live your life full of hatered and intolerance, then go ahead.
Thank you for your approval? But you see, this is precisely what the Lord thy God wants. It is what He commands of us. And because we don't want to suffer for eternity, we are happy to comply.
The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.
        Deuteronomy 17:7

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
        Matthew 7:6

I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
        1 Corinthians 5:9-13

Well. As I mentioned in my original post, I am LDS. (Mormon) Where I come from, everyone is loved by God equally. We take The Bible less literally. There are parts that are meant to be taken with a grain of salt. My God loves you, me, whites, blacks, homosexuals, terrorists, etc. equally. We need not fear Him where I’m from. To get to Heaven, we need only to love God and His children.

You come here wondering why we don't change our minds, and yet you declare you are unwilling to consider anything that even might warrant changing yours, including Holy Scripture! And you accuse us of hypocrisy!

I never said anything about not changing my mind. I am a completly open man. I am willing to accept any religion should I be given proof. If you can get Muhammed to speak to me, then I’ll be Islamic. If you get God to tell me to take the entire Bible literally, then I’ll do so. If someone, someday convinces me that God isn’t real, then I shall be Atheist. I will be whoever God wants me to be.

Welcome friend, you had a female straighten you out yet you continue to whine like a five year old girl (no offense, but my five year old girl read your posts and said that is what you reminded her of).
God had the Holy Bible written for the simplest of minds. Why can't you get that?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

You seem to be suggesting that "where you come from" God is different from other places. Are you also claiming that in other places God looks like a hideous goblin or a triple breasted floozy and wants people to prance around wearing horns to worship Him? The Bible presents a very different account of The Deity. What source are you using?

                      Lady, you are confused.

We do not hate those people. God hates them. He says so in the Bible. We are trying to rebuke them so they can enter Heaven. That is our mission.

But God hates them, and there is not much we can do about it.

                            I asked a simple question:
Why do you hate people who do not share the same belifes as you?
I only find it strange that you condemn hate while most other relidions praise acceptance.
Your question was answered. Several times. You do not like the answer and want an answer that suits you. That is whining. Little babies do that at a store when they do not get the toy they want.
We do not hate, we are trying to save your worthless soul and enable it to have value. Friend, that is called love. I love you as only another man could.

                              My dear Mormon brother:

(Have you seen "The Book of Mormon," by the way? It's wonderful)

The great "I AM" gave us a book - a holy book - and it mentions none of the nonsense that "another testament of Jesus Christ" touts. The books of the King James Bible - a book with which I am so familiar I could call it St. Jim - tells us plainly: "6 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Therefore, you statement that the Bible is not to be taken literally is shut down. God just dropped the microphone and gave three snaps in your direction.

You mentioned rallies against homers. Perhaps you are confusing us with the liberal Westboro Baptist Church. They are known for their hate rallies, even against our brave military. We do no such ungodly things. In fact, I rally around every homosekshul I can find, willing to do what it takes to make him cry out to God on his knees. I enjoy bringing love to men deeply and with conviction.

We do not wish to argue with you. I can only say that if you stay with us long enough you will see the Christian life in everything we do here. Nothing more and nothing less. It brings us joy when people see the truth of Christianity and the effects it can have on one's life. Won't you join us on that journey?

                              Praying,
                              BrotherLarry
                              Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”

Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man.
                              Amen and Amen
