Hi, I recently joined. I am a Christian who was saved at the age of 5 as a result of a sunday school lesson. I am a sinner who has been saved by grace. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for everyone and whoever believes in Him is saved. I want to share the love of Christ with others who are lost in sin. I believe that God loves everyone (liars, cheaters, homosexuals) but he cannot tolerate sin because He is perfect. And that is why He sent Jesus, so that all of us could come to Him and so He could save us from our sin. All we need to do is ask. I know i am not perfect, but I do my best to live the way He wants me to live.

What is this belief of yours based on? It apparently is not based on the Bible, as God hates some people.

Romans 9:13
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Malachi 1:3
And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

Proverbs 12:16-19
These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness [that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

This last quote proves that God not only hates lies but people who lie (a false witness is not some abstract kind of "sin" but a person). Do you think that the Bible has erred here? If you think so, can you provide us with a reliable method how to discern false passages from the ones that you deem correct? Thank you in advance.

My belief is based on the Bible. As the most commonly known Bible verse says: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). And as Romans 5:8 says, “God showed His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” These verses do not specify anybody he does not love because He died for all of us because He loves all of us.

Now looking at the last verse you mentioned in Proverbs (I think you meant Proverbs 6:16-19 and not Proverbs 12) if you read that verse carefully you will motice that verse 16 says that God hates 6 things as listed but there are 7 sins that are an abomonation which include the 6 sins listed plus false profers are an abomination to Him. Which means that a false prophet spreading lies are a abomination to him. It does not say God hates anyone.

This is so true, those who believe can gain Salvation. Did you ever read that great Chapter of John a bit further?

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Just two verses on and Jesus sends the unbelievers into Hell. Praise Him! Everyone is or has been a sinner. We also used to be sinners. Thanks to Jesus, we can no longer sin!

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Now, did you read the verses about Esau. How can you justify that God does not express hate there. Even in the original Greek it is crystal clear:

• καθάπερ γέγραπται Τὸν Ἰακὼβ ἠγάπησα, τὸν δὲ Ἠσαῦ ἐμίσησα. The verb is in aorist active indicative, 1st person singular. A direct quote from God. The dictionary form is μισέω, "hate". Don't try the "love less" ad hoc escape by some badly educated scholars. If you took that initiative, you'd get into all kinds of trouble, for instance, in John 3:20 φαῦλα πράσσων μισεῖ τὸ φῶς. The Evil would then "love the light less" but we know that He hates Jesus. If he loved light "less", he would still love Jesus, which is contradictory.

Now, please explain the Esau verses!

Of course we still after being saved, are you saying you have done thing wrong after you got saved. If you are, then you are lying because that is impossible. We have been forgiven from our sins and Jesus intercedes on our behalf


1 John 1:9-If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sinsand purify us from all unrighteousness.

In regards to Esau, if you look at the word hate in the original language it holds a different meaning than in english. It means that Esau was less privileged than Jacob and did not have the protection that God provided Jacob.


Could you also explain the verses you mentioned in Proverbs, because I don't believe that is a valid point.
