Skal,
My name is Logan J. Samhain. I am 21 years old and have been a born again, saved Christian since I was about 9 years old.
I've been a lurker on Landover Baptist Church's Website and Forums for more than a year and find the articles, posts, and thoughts informative, insightful, and delight your ability to provide wit and, I daresay, even humor in even the most serious or grievous of announcements or posts. However, please understand that I am not making fun of you (you in the collective sense) nor do I propose that you're being humorous as if this were a parody, example:
"And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation." - Psalm 35:9
As I see here you are merely practicing what you preach. You follow the entire KJV1611 as God's will for you and everyone; therefore, you are merely being joyous even when you must be grave. At least, that is my take on the view.
Now I am attracted to this website because of the unique way in which you take the KJV1611. You openly admit that you preach and practice down to the letter of God's infallible Word and this is quite commendable, even when you work, seemingly, faults or contradicitions to show how it really fits. The Word seems to contradict itself - you point out how the, seemingly, conflicting sides work together to coincide. I find that to be very neat.
I apologize for my ramblings, but it's a bit hard to integrate into a new community, even an online one, and it can be difficult to discuss such things when you're new. Basically why I am here is because I am interested in participating in your discussions and learning more about how you study and use the Word. This is the only community I've ever seen with enough inteliigence to accept every verse, in its entirety, without having to blatantly warp the views on it.
By the way, I do not have a blog or a picture or anything of that sort. I will do my best to describe myself though - I'm a 5'9" white skinned American male, born and raised Southern, with short red hair and blue eyes. I've long studyed theology, though my knowledge of the Bible, especially the KJV1611, is not nearly as completely and fully commandable as yours has proven to be. I'm a Southern Baptist.
I do have a question though, if you will forgive my impudence, pride and vanity:
You claim to follow the entire KJV1611 to the letter. Let me open my question with these three verses:
"17: Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19: Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." ~ Matthew 5:17-19
It is my interpretation that Jesus is telling us that He comes not to break the Law. Indeed, not one jot or one tittle shall pass from the Law until He fulfills the Law.
However, according to Jewish tradition there are 613 commandments (with the ones added by Jesus there are over 1,000) found in the Old Testament. Do you know these? Do you follow them? I realize you probably do not follow the Rabbinical teachings, but surely those laid out in black and white by God Himself are to be followed, such as the commandment not to eat meat and dairy (Exodus 23:19), not to wear mixtures of wool and linen (Deuteronomy 22:11), etc.
I read a previous post on these fine boards discussing the similarities between a new Christian and a new cook to those of a Master Christian and a Master Chef. While the newbie needs to be heavily shackled and bound by law, and procedure, ritual and recipe, in an attempt to promote good habits, a Master now knows better and does not need the law and ritual because it comes as easy as breathing. But, is not even the Master Chef still bound by the laws of space and time? Of physics and logic? Water does not boil at 100 degress F no matter how excellent a Chef you are - just as God told us, time and time again in the Old Testament, His commandments, all of them, are binding and eternal. (I believe He uses the terms "Forever" and "For all generations")
Please understand that I approach you in respect and do not wish to sound argumentative. After all, a forum is meant to be a place of education and enlightment.
God Bless You All,
Humbly,
Samhain
P.S. I do not have the internet and must go to a wireless cafe in my spare time to post, unless I am able to, occassionally, do so on my phone. Please be patient if I do not respond immediately.
P.P.S. I realize the Satanic elements of my name. My name is Samhain and I apologize for any offense this might bring; but, please rest assured that this is merely another example of how, ultimately, even the darkness must serve the Light.
