If my introduction truly shocks you, you might want to take a step outside for a bit. I'm not even trying, really.

It's amazing after so many years on the Internet that we plain folks in the Landover community can still be shocked, shocked I tell you at the blasphemy of the wicked. No-one has said anything as shocking to us on these sacred forums until you arrived. You are truly devastaing to our forum - and yet - you are not even trying, really. Do not judge book by its covers, dear. How can you proclaim with any degree of certainty that Tolkien is better than the Bible, if you haven't read the latter?

While I admit that parts of the Bible are a bit dry (especially the genealogies), there are a lot of parts with some great action. Battles (just don't think too much about iron chariots, Judges 1:19), sieges (Joshua 6), slavery (including captive sex slaves, Deuteronomy 21:10-17), genocide (Exodus 17:14-15), rape (including rape of own sister, 2 Samuel 13), human sacrifice (Judges 11:30-31, 34, 39-40), crushing babies' heads into rocks (Psalm 137:9), pimping own wife/sister out to the Pharaoh (Genesis 12:11-16), a few role model prostitutes (such as Rahab, Joshua 6:17), and much, much more! Bible is much more interesting, gory, and scandalous than you seem to believe!

Though you gotta admit, those basic aspects of the story are extremely common and surely, the Christians were not the first ones coming up with it. So let's not reach too deep here, yes? Anything can be a biblical allegory if you're looking at it through christ-coloured glasses.

Well, if you ever are ready to actually discuss Manicheism (or any earlier Persian religion), Egyptian religion, Mesopotamian religion, or any other belief system that pre-stole Christian beliefs (rather than just hypothesize about it), I'll be here all week.

Both our leadership and rank and file members have written reems of posts pointing out the need to read and obey the whole Bible. In fact, people actually despise us for our uncompromising stand on the subject.

A cautious welcome to you. I always found that Jesus is someone you should fear and respect. This has been taught at an early age in schools here in the south. I would urge you to find Jesus as soon as possible. John 3:16 says we are rewarded for being faithful Christians after we die. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The alternative is what you’re heading towards unless you are making drastic changes to reverse your path, especially as a transgender according to Deuteronomy 22:5. The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God. I will be praying that you peruse the forums and read The Bible so that you can be saved some day. The wonderful people I talk to at Landover Baptist Church inspire me every day to be a better Christian and I am sure the same effect may be had to you if you open your heart to Jesus.

Oh, so you haven't read the Bible. I mean, it is very basic knowledge that Christian morals are "Thou shalt not kill unless God commands you to" and "Respect all men except those who God does not want you to respect". And so on and so forth, I guess you get the idea.


Peaceful, the people of God? You are of the ones who think Jesus was a sort of hippie communist giving to the poor. That happens when you do not actually read the Bible.

1) The fight between the Good and Evil,
2) Evil related to what Christianity sees as sins,
3) Good=creation, evil=destruction,
4) Longing for return of the king (= Second Coming of Christ),
5) Main heroes of the story suffering and sacrificing themselves for the greater good,
6) Rejection of relativism - there's right and wrong and nothing in between.

Now, unfortunately, Tolkien was a devout Catholic, so there is some Catholic propaganda woven into it as well.

Though I'm glad you (assumingly) had the courage to read some of Tolkien's works, at least. Very brave considering many Christians used to hate and attempt to ban it due to the spooky sorcery and demonic creatures or whatever. If so, your taste in literature is at least salvageable.

I have thought that the Travelling Freak Show has been due for a comeback for a few years now.

I suspect that it fell into decline as there was no "moral aspect" to it - simply people gawking and going away laughing nervously.

I was thinking of various exhibits that gave the ungodly and weak of faith a chance to see what denying The Lord does for a person.

I have a few phone calls to make before I get back to you, so give me a while and think of having a steady and useful job.

And no, I will not enlighten you. You see, that is part of the problem. God has written a book, and instead of actually read it, you want people to teach it to you.

Why should you read a book allegedly written by a God who chose a tribe of goat herders 3000 years ago?

Well, for us, is the only true God, so reading it is unavoidable. For you, it really does not get you interested reading the most influential book for every culture in the western hemisphere EVER?

The Bible has had more impact that anything, not only another book. It has, and still is, guided morally, legally and socially all our societies. If you keep your atheism after reading it, at least you will know the origins of much of the rules that you are forced to follow by the secular world, that are still rooted in religion.

No, it is not a waste of time. Reading a Satanist book is. Zero influence and impact, only a toy for people pretending to oppose something they don't know.
