1 John 3:9

But, in fact, that is irrelevant. What you are actually doing here is using the fallacious argument of tu quoque ("you also"). It is a kindergarten form of the ad hominem, accusing people of something instead of actually looking into the content of the argument ("You're stupid!" "No! You are!"). Obviously, this is persecution instead of discussion but we thrive in it (Matthew 5:12).

Ad hominem and tu quoque? This means that the veracity of an argument is not determined by the person who makes the claim but the actual content of the claim. Over here, the claims are based on the Bible, so to become plausible, you need to actually examine the content of a True Christian™ argument and not attack on the person making the argument. Examples:

• Penicillin would work equally well or not even it had bot been Alexander Fleming but Adolf Hitler who discovered it.
• My explanations about the Bible are valid (or not) regardless of if I am a hypocrite. (There is the question of Psalms 53:1 but we'll get to that if your posts diverge unto that path).

Once again, this is basic logic and to become a useful interlocutor, you might want to look into it.

The tale of Balaam and his ass is my favorite story in the Bible so I know it well. The story, put simply, is how Balaam learned that he needed to listen to God and how it's God who is in control.

A Furry, by the way, is just someone who likes anthropomorphic animals. (Animals with human characteristics.) The animals from the Lion King, Madagascar, Paddington Bear, etc. would be considered anthropomorphic because they can talk, have reasoning, and other human qualities.


Not all Furries create our own animal character much less have fursuits. Those things are ridiculously expensive.

Sometimes bad things happen to good people. And sometimes we may think it's a punishment because of something we, or someone else did, but that's not always the case.

God orchestrates everything either by direct causation or by letting things happen. For instance, He might see a typical Catholic priest raping altar boys but decides to only observe due to reasons that may be related, e.g., to the sins of the boys' great-grandparents (Numbers 14:18) or, in the case of bastards in the family, removed by ten generations (Deuteronomy 23:2).

Some one might think how bad it is that their car wouldn't start and think that God is punishing them, but it could be that God kept the car from starting to keep the person out of a horrible wreck on the Interstate.

Yes, this is exactly the point above. God both caused or let the horrible wreck on the Interstate to happen and kept some possible Salvation material safe. The same with plane crashes. God may save a few people while letting the other passangers, including women and children, burn in agony that is, however, peanuts compared to the agonies of Hell! Also, in these cases, hereditary iniquity across generations (such as Deuteronomy 23:2) could be a reason.

I don't know where you got that I was upset when someone mentioned fursuits. I found the picture rather cool. They weren't colors I would have picked for mine though. Too loud.

There are a lot worse things that people could wear besides fursuits. I've seen five-year old girls that looked like little tramps and their mothers didn't look much better.

This argument is just the fallacy of whataboutism or two wrongs make a right. I'll elaborate. The fact that (in your opinion) worse things happen, does not make another slightly less evil (in your opinion) sin tolerable. You can always refer to an issue that (in your opinion) seems worse and try to divert the discussion unto that path. Obviously, your example of making children look like harlots is bad. But that does not make furry culture good. You just need to i) actually look at the Bible in its entirety and ii) learn the basic skills in logic and argumentation, and iii) justify your positions with actual Biblical passages keeping in mind that, also in that case, whataboutism won't work... and by following these simple guidelines there still might be a little hope for you.

If God loves everyone, why would He punish anyone wearing strange apparel? One reason could be that Zephaniah was speaking to a fad at the time, where people dressed in costumes mimicking a rival group who adored idols. Later on this same issue about clothing came up again.

I Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array

After 700 years, God still thought clothing trends were important – including hairstyles, gold bangles, pearl necklaces, those rings you see on dreadlocks and so on. There is only one source of information about God and Jesus and often when His message is unacceptable, people make up something else. That may give comfort but what would God think about that? For example you seem to get upset when a different idea about fur suits comes along.

In the same way, God gets upset when different ideas about hair broiding, gold and pearls, strange or costly apparel come along. We had no idea what you thought about fur suits until you told us. And we had no idea what God thought either, until He told us. Where are you getting your information about God?

Rather than listen to your interpretation of the Bible - and you are dangerous close to blasphemy - I suggest you read what the Bible actually says and what God actually meant with the tale of Balaam's Ass.

Posing to have one's picture taken is not the perversion being cited.

It is the wearing of costumes designed to obscure one's identity as well as the pretense of being another species that is the problem. The unnatural, chimera aspect of those species is a separate problem.

Of course, the most disturbing aspect of all is the need to dress in those unnatural disguises. Someone fixed on knowing God, learning about His Plan for humanity and following God with true devotion would not experience the urge to climb into a faux fur suit in the first place.

It's just something fun to do. To be someone, or something else, for a little while. It's not that much different from portraying an animal during a theatre production of Christ's birth.
