    A cautious introduction

My husband recently suggested making an introductory post to get to know you all better.

My name is Tanya and I’m married to a honourable man named Richard and we have two amazing little young ones named Lucia and Timothy. We’re also planning for a third.

We go to a Baptist Church and I do often search the internet for sermons and Christian topics.

In regards to favourites I do love the book of Ecclesiastes.

I came to know Jesus through a friend back at school.

I’ve been a little hesitant to post here as I’ve preferred to just contribute to this forum in small but positive ways and I’m not sure I'll really meet up to your standards of a Christian. I’m not sure where this will lead but I trust in my husband’s judgement. So here I am

Planned parenthood? Oh, I don't like the sound of that, not at all.
I was sinking deep in sin far from the peaceful shore,
    Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more;
But the Master of the Sea heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me, now safe am I!

No you may not. I have a question for you, girl: who did you vote for in the 2020 presidential election?

Hi Tanya, Nice to meet you.

I have a question regarding your favourite book. Ecclesiastes 10:9 seems to indicate chopping wood should hurt you. Do you believe it is fair that we can no longer have a camp fire to roast the trout we caught?

          Kind regards, Roland
Jeremiah 6:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.

Best wishes for the people in Ukraine.

I know I could never meet Christ's standard but happily that deficiency is met in Him. Thank you for a nice introduction with no heresy or swearing. That does happen and it makes me sad.

I thought that meant planning a cot and a pram and, you know, changing mats and soft blankets and bootees – for when The Lord sends a little one their way.
Roland is a good example of what happens when someone rejects Christ and pursues nonsense such as spaghetti and/or alien worship. How often I've prayed for him to see The Truth but he's obstinate; nevertheless Jesus hears our prayers and it's in His hands now.

Ecclesiastes quoted out of context is never a good idea and in this case I can even include dates.

12a Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine.

Cleary if the use of campfires to cook fish was acceptable to Jesus 966 years after the Ecclesiastes text was written, it's acceptable to us. Acts and Judges are two other books, one each from the Old and New Testaments, particularly helpful for me and I can recommend reading them with your husband as you await God's further blessing.

            Welcome to the forum,

              Mitza.
I did not reject Jesus, I just have not found him. I looked everywhere and the only thing I found was as scared mouse. I have no idea where that critter went though. It was at least twice as big as the last time I saw it.

The puzzling thing is that it lives and grows even though it does not eat any of my food.

I don’t live in America so I didn’t vote. However I do think of Biden as a senile puppet, probably having his strings pulled by the Antichrist.

Thankyou for the kind words MitzaLizalor. I’ll definitely give Judges and Acts a more thorough read through. You are right about the planning. Having a child is by far no small undertaking.

What? Whyever not? My husband and I don't live in the United States either, at the moment. And yet we managed to vote, as will our sons when they are of age. And our daughter too - she is a turning into a moderately sensible young woman. Our eldest son Luke, who unfortunately was too young for the 2020 Presidential election, is now 18 and eager to participate at the first opportunity. It's simply a matter of registering.

Or are you telling us that you're not a Godly American? What ghastly nationality do you hold?

My dear Sister Joanna, judging by the nature of her misspellings, I'd wager she's a Brit, Canadian, Australian, or some other horrible thing.

Hello and welcome to our Family Friendly Forums! I'm so pleased to hear you have young children and are awaiting Jesus to gift you more, and that you have decided to educate them at home! That is fantastic! The LORD tells us parents who love their children will rebuke them similarly to how He rebukes sinners. Because of love. So don't be shy. Don't be afraid to get all "Book of Job" on their hides. They'll thank you in Heaven when their brick-and-mortar educated peer are roasting in Hell because they were led astray by the Siren Song of Sin.
I have collected a few valuable sources for you. You're welcome.
