                  I do not know where you were raised (obviously not in Landover(tm)) but in polite society it is customary to introduce oneself to strangers after walking into their home, church or forum. Manners spring from realities of life; if people do not know who you are, they may react with unpleasant (for both parties) suspicion.

                  Perhaps this is how you ended up in Quarantine.
