Well then, not to bad of a translation there wide-open. You guys seem to be stuck in the Old Covenant more so than the New Covenant. After Jesus came, things changed did it not?
The old law was centered around a system of animal sacrifices conducted by a specially chosen priesthood, so do you fulfill in these kind of actions too because it is done in the Bible?
What is the women's status according to you? Do you go by the OT or the NT?

Only after she begged for "crumbs from the table" did He give in to her whining and fulfill her request.

We are to READ and OBEY, not make up things that suit our fancy and pretend God said them.

Paul mentioned it in the New Testament. I do believe the husband is head of the household, but what does this submit mean? I do not believe she is her husband's slave.....there must be respect towards each other and together they must praise God. So I am looking at it as a supporting role and it is normally things the wife can do better than the man.

In Christ we are all children of God. As the apostle Paul wrote: “You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:26-28)

In these verse you can see how Jesus cared for women too:

I'm sure you would find a nicer welcoming committee, but it seems like you just came here to argue. That's no fun.

Can you just lighten up a little bit and tell us what Christians do in South Africa that's inspirational? Maybe we could learn something from you about South Africa that we don't already know. For example, you posted a photo with no information about it? Is that one of the sights in Cape Town? Both, Brother. Were you under the impression that the status of women changed in the NT?

Both testaments make it clear that women are the property of men. The difference is that in the OT, the status must be inferred (albeit rather easily) from the the treatment of women under the law. In the NT, the status of women is explicitly stated.

1Pet 3:1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
1Pet 3:2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

Women are to be under subjection to their husbands. Their should speak to their husbands with a sense of awe and reverence.

I could show you several more examples, but I want to make a broader point. You spoke of new covenant vs. old covenant earlier. We covered this topic in depth on another thread. Under the old covenant, people grudgingly stuck to the letter of the law. Under the new covenant, people cheerfully stick to the spirit of the law. The law was a schoolmaster that prepared us for the age of grace, but not one jot or one tittle has passed from the law. Things that were sins in the OT are still sins today. The difference is that as saved Christians living under grace, we are expected to go above and beyond the law. The law is the bare minimum of what God expects of us. If all we are doing is the bare minimum required, then what does that say about our enthusiasm for the Lord?

I'll give you an example. The letter of the law is that we should tithe 10% (Num 18:26). If you lived under the old covenant, that's what you would do. However, the spirit of the law is to tithe cheerfully and generously. If you aren't tithing well beyond your means to survive, it proves that you don't trust God to take care of you (2Cor 9:6-8).

Does these verses not also soothe your soul!

Hi,

Well I did not know what to expect when I joined this forum, it was just shocking when I got accused of all kinds of things, which were not true. I thought you are Christians who follow the Bible like me and have compassion to help and serve fellow man to become Saved!

You do have some rules that I might not understand and also how you execute them. For me God is Love, but I know He is righteous and will place His wrath on those who rejected Him. There are this new Church that say they are Christians, but believe that everyone is saved, which I believe is a lie and I hoped you agree with me? My biggest concern is that these people are placing a huge deception on others that wants to become Christians and place confusion on existing Christians letting them astray!

My reason for joining you is to learn and share things regarding Jesus and what is happening in the world, not to be judge(its ok to point out things in the Bible that concerns me in a respectful manner), but also to be accepted as another warrior for Jesus!
I know you do not know me and I live in Africa, but I am a man with thoughts and do not fear to ask questions or do debating, I am not here to make a division in your Church either. If you follow the Bible and do it to glorify God and not yourselves you would not have to have fear for division.
The main thing here is this, I agree with you that only Jesus is the way to the Father and I believe it!

That's exactly what happened to JESUS. He was tested and he passed....although he had to die temporarily in the process.
