    New poster

    Hi everyone,

    Okay.

    I am a 40 somethings Christian who became serious about Jesus at the age of 26.

    My father, my only parent died of cancer when I was but 22, an orphan I suppose.

    It was near Thanksgiving one year, I was watching a television commercial depicting a large family sitting around the dinner table... and there I sat alone with a turkey sandwich.

    From that point I had decided that the world had rejected me...

    So I applied for a job.

    "Take me Lord, do something with me..."

    It was at that time my troubles began, lol, but in the end I was truly glad for my troubles.

    It was not long until I lost my job in electronics, lost my house, even my dog.

    This was about the age of 30.

    I left my town and took a bus north, was to remain homeless on and off for the next ten years.

    I know my experience gave me more compassion for the poor, I had walked in my brother's shoes, there by the grace of God went I...

              1) How was your father your only parent? What happend to your mother?
              2) Are you implying that your "job application" to God was the beginning of your troubles?
              3) Why in 10 years were you unable to get a job? Are you incompetant?
              4) What kind of dog? I love dogs.

                      1. My parents were divorced when I was three.

                      2. Well, don't a lot of folks go through tribulations... if that's what it takes to build compassion in a person then it is all worth it. For some there is no other way.

                      3. I had odd jobs and I was homeless on and off, I just never made enough for first and last and security deposits... I'd me under a bridge for a month and then get a motel for a week, them back outside.

                      4. Black Lab. Had him only three years and gave him up because I didn't think it was fair for him to be homeless too.
