I was spawned in '76 England to an atheist Welsh man and CofE English woman.
In Hong Kong, within 8 years, I was in the the clutches of the Church of Latter day Saints and they baptised me.
It did not take long before disillusionment came upon me and I fell away from their church into the talons of atheists and eventually astrophysicists.
The absence of God's love left an empty hole in my heart for most of my years, only now I feel that I must break free to seek joy and Salvation.

Surely I can find it here through the love of Christ.

I've not had the pleasure of visiting God's country or his great lakes. I am currently stationed in the Rep. Ireland and am surrounded by Mary worshipers.

There is no such thing as Rep. Ireland, only the proud United Kingdom member called Northern Ireland.

My geography was never very good so I guess it must be close to the Southern half of Northern Ireland.
I only partake of a tipple of sherry on Fridays.

My heart felt apologies Talitha. I should be shunned and rightfully so.
But in my defense I was a bit taken aback by discovering that I had not lived where I presumed I had lived for the past 3years. To think the neighbour or postman gave me no indication of this.

There are more details about me yes.
Lived in England until I was 4, after that lived about 6 years in Hong Kong where we became Mormons in my formative years (a bit young to know any better). I fell away from this (as did my parents, my Father was only a "quasi-participant" anyway) when I began to understand some of their teachings and loss of contact with various members on return to the UK (Wales).

I've been through a few more religions or belief systems when back in Britain i.e. dabbled briefly with Catholism and Buddhism and settled for a couple years on Jehovah's Witnesses (my Mother remained in this). But none of them seemed to hold the truth for me so I fell away and under my Father's influence (and company kept) I was guided into atheism in which I have existed up until quite recently.
I developed an interest, as an atheist, in mathematics and physics and studied for an MPhys (emphasis on semiconductors & optoelectronics) then PhD in Astrophysical instrumentation (FSS filters).

I have found my atheism however to "blacken" my heart to some exent, having no reason for my existence other than to increase the entropy of the Universe and an inner-sense that there must be something more. Atheism has caused me deep unhappiness in retrospect.

I have learned through the Bible that through Jesus and God's word is the only path to Salvation and then I stumbled upon your site. It is here I think that I may find it. The distorted interpretations of God's word found in so many other Christian faiths do not truly offer God's word and so there is no Salvation by this route. This is what has been lacking in my life.

Methiah, how long have you been using the Meth, and why haven't you mentioned it?

It's very unhealthy and expensive, and prevents you from tithing properly to the church.

Oh yes.
Also during my atheist years I became in involved with drugs ranging from phenethylamines, tryptamines, tropane derivatives and benzodiazepines and fornication of course.
Mixing with members of cult groups like the Edgar Cayce foundation for example.
These days I grow vegetables as a hobby instead.
