    Hello

I come here with an open mind and to learn and better understand the concepts of the Baptist Church.

Although I may not agree with some of the viewpoints presented on this board, I wish to better understand the groundwork supporting them.

    God Bless

    Re: Hello

    Welcome!

Are you a Baptist Christian? What is your favorite verse from the KJV 1611 Bible?

Every single person has differeing opinons about something. Here, Everyone agrees the Bible is the guide book of life.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

      Re: Hello

I wouldn't say I am a Baptist Christian at the moment my friend. I am a Christian yes, but I am a bit up in the air at this crossroad of my life as to what denomination best suits me.

It's hard to pick a favorite Bible verse as there are several I would call favorites but, this verse I especially appreciate:

"I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live." Deuteronomy 30:19

I don't wish to argue with you Pastor. I read the "noobs" thread and it says that all people are welcome and I wish to learn more about the Baptist Church? Is it wrong to seek knowledge?

Welcome friend! I'm glad you found our Holy forum.

No, it is not wrong to seek knowledge, but it is unchristian to seek knowledge outside of the KJAV 1611 Bible. We are True Christian™ Bible literalists here at Landover. We are God's chosen people, and as such we will be spending eternity with our Lord when He takes us home.

As far as I am concerned, the only thing you need to know about Independent Baptists like us is how to become one pronto! What if you get hit by a truck or carried off by a twister? Then you'd have to spend eternity in Hell, just because you were to lazy too become a True Christian!

I'd hate for that to happen to you!

                Re: Hello

Well that is why I am here. I just purchased a copy of the KJAV 1611 Bible several days ago.

I came here because I figured it would be helpful to learn from the holy text and with insight from the honorable saved people of this forum!
