I'm a U.S citizen living in the UK. My mother is British but my Father is American, and I class myself as American.

Over here there are no churches that I feel comfortable attending as they don't have the same believes as I do. I am still unsure as to what church will best suit my believes and part of my search has brought me here.

I'm looking to find the truth that can be found in the Bible but find that I am not wise enough for that mission on my own, especially at my young(ish) age.

I would greatly appreciate any help to me on my journey of salvation, and the mission to understand the truth that lies within the Bible.

Thanks for kind welcoming replies. In answer to some of the questions. I am 21, and look to follow as closely as I can what is taught to us in the Bible. It shows how naive I am that I didn't know there were different Bibles, so I am unsure as to which I have. But I am looking to find which is the Bible that is the true word of God so that it can help me on my path.

More about me on a side note, I have studied History and Politics at university. I enjoy music, mostly folk, country and classical music. I also enjoy sports, mostly motor sports but do also enjoy a good game of tennis.

Sorry for the late reply but I wasn't on my computer yesterday. Many thanks for the welcomes.

As for my beliefs, I think that the everyday life should be lived as closely to the word of the Bible as is possible. I try to do this but (this links with your second question) as I am not very wise or well schooled in the teachings of the Bible I often seek advice on interpreting what I read. I have only read parts of the Bible, never fully through which I am ashamed of. However now that I have finished school I have more time to do so.

My mother took me to a few local Churchs, most being Anglican where I didn't get on with the people, I also attended a family Baptist Church, I enjoyed the company of the people more there but it wasn't local and was a struggle to get to and I felt there was a bit too much song involved. Now don't get me wrong, I love to sing the praises of the Lord but I felt that the Pastor should be educating us in Gods word.

It must be difficult to live your life according to God's Holy Word when you haven't actually read it. That, combined with the fact that your hellbound mother forced you to be indoctrinated by the false Christian Anglicans, must have left your soul scrambled.

We'll do our True Christian(tm) best to help guide you onto the path of Salvation(c). The Word of God can be had for free if you just visit your local Independant Baptist Church and ask the Pastor for one. Make sure you ask specifically for a KJV1611 Authorized Version Bible.

Also you can read one online at www.biblegateway.com. And for your assisted reading pleasure, Brother V has got a wonderful thread going HERE called "Bible in a Year."

Above all, don't guess. God demands that we adhere to each and every word of the Bible. Using your imagination will only grease the skids that lead to eternal damnation.

Be careful there son. Folk Music and Tennis are fine on their own, but together the add up to a dangerous amount of homersexual influences. Pick which one you like better, and drop the other one like a hot rock! Your immortal soul could be at stake!

Once you have become more familiar with the Bible and stronger in your faith, I guess you could pick up the other habit again. If it was me, I'd keep up the tennis, at least you'll get some exercise. I see very little redeeming value in Folk Music.

God is not concerned about how "inconvenient" getting to church might be friend, he is concerned about your immortal soul! When I was still living in the sin pit of California, I flew to Freehold EVERY SUNDAY for church. Was it expensive? You're darn skippy it was expensive! Was it easy and convenient? Heck NO! I had to get to the airport at 4:00am! Am I glad I did it? You know I am! I'm SAVED boy, I have a Holy Mansion reserved in the BEST PART of Heaven! And you can have one too! You just have to become a True Christian™ member of God's Favorite Church™, Landover Baptist!

If you must play music, hymns will do for now, until your faith is strong enough to stand up to the homo influences of Folk Music. And whatever you do, stay away from show tunes, they will turn you gay faster than you can say Jerome Robbins!
