  • A few questions for the LBC members...?

    Hi all LBC members

I have a few questions, if you care to enlighten me on some points of view LBC has? Please could someone (anyone) answer these for me?

    > Where in the KJV does it state that a rape-victim must marry her rapist?
    > Why the racist, slanderous and rude comments, and often assumptions to forum users?
    > Do you belief that only Americans can be saved / do you have a superiority complex due to the fact that you are American?
    > How is it that "one of the truest Christians ever" can rudely ask me to quote my statement out of the KJV or be proven false... and then when I successfully quote out of the KJV, I receive no response... Does that proof that Christian as false, or merely human? And as far as that question goes, I suspect some of your members are merely trying to confuse weak people on this forum. If you are going to take on a fellow Christian and accuse them of being false, get your bible ready...

Looking forward to an array of varied responses to these questions... and please, I come in piece as a fellow-Christian, so restraint will be appreciated!

    Deuteronomy 22:
    28If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;

29Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

We do not tolerate racism here in any way, shape or form. If you see an example that has skipped through the cracks, please notify one of our moderators.

In theory, anyone can be saved. In practice, it is a lot harder for some than for others. And no, we do not have a superiority complex just because we happen to live in God's favorite nation.

Please provide a link. My guess would be that your "quote" was so wildly out of context that it didn't merit a reply. But I will be glad to provide a thorough rebuttal to any "secular Christian" heresy upon request.

Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
    Romans 1:20
For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
    2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

You obviously haven't been paying attention have you?

Do I look unsaved to you?

Of course, it is my deepest desire to become an US citizen as soon as possible. All the paperwork has been filed 18 months ago, and Pastor Zeke is doing everything he can to speed up the process.

The quote was about me saying the phrase mortal sin (when refering to homosexuality, as I belief this to be a mortal sin) and subsequently being accused of being Catholic, as apparently that is a term ("mortal sin") used by the papacy. I then replied with KJV Romans 6:12 "Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Please feel free to advise me honestly whether you belief this quote to be valid or not and whether I am in fact the one getting this wrong.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me.

Actually, I am not able to tell this from your photo alone... I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt though...

I'll try not to hold that against you... Since we are sharing, it is my biggest fear to be forced to go to the US of A!!!

Yes, the Romans 6:12 is a misquote. Let's use a "neutral source" to define the term "mortal sin" for the sake of discussion:

Mortal sin, according to the beliefs of the Catholic Church (and some Protestant denominations such as Lutheranism) is a sin that, unless confessed and absolved (or at least sacramental confession is willed if not available), condemns a person's soul to Hell after death.

Romans 6:12 deals with a completely different concept. It deals with a certain type of sin that can become addictive (sins of the flesh, or of the mortal body). Paul cautions use against lusts of the flesh because they can take control of the body. This can be things like drugs, alcohol, sex, etc.

As for the racism thing, I'll refer to Shakespeare: "What's in a name? That which we call a rose, By any other name would smell as sweet" Romeo and Juliet, Act II scene 2. Names mean different things to different people, and we can't control that. There are certain words designated as Hate Speech that we do not allow, however. And if you have an example where any race or class is talked about as being specifically inferior in any way, then please let us know right away.

And for the America thing, well we can agree to disagree

Thank you for providing me with a valid and indeed understandable reference and explination. I am certainly not above being corrected when I am wrong!!
