    Praise God

Hello everyone, My name is Mark and I am a new Christian, so if I ramble sometimes a bit, please bear with me. I wanted to say first that I chose the avatar I did because my appearance is unimportant as much as I myself am. I believe that the focus should be on God and all things righteous, not on who I am or what i look like. I hope thats ok by the pastors and administrators here. I have been reading a few of the posts here and find that my beliefs about God and his teachings (the interpretation) fall right in line with the pastors here, so I feel like i am in good company for the first time in my life. Since this is the introduction forum I will post a little bit about who i am.

I used to live my life for satan for a long time... rock and roll music, lust, etc... I am disgusted now with how blind and lost i was. The specifics are not really important, but what IS important is that i do now know Jesus Christ, and he is my Lord and Savior, and at every opportunity God gives me, i do try to witness to others by listening to his voice (the Holy Spirit) and let him tell me what to say, how, and how far to go... I now try to live my life for Christ in everything i do. I do backslide as do we all (for we are all sinners), but i do ask his forgiveness and ask him to rule my life and to do his will, not mine.

The only other important thing i wanted to say is that i am terminally ill and Praise God! will be seeing him soon. I am a dialysis patient due to a genetic problem in my family. I do believe that some of us suffer for sins we have committed, but others suffer because it is righteous suffering for Christ (think Job), though i do NOT consider myself in the same catagory as Job, i do understand suffering FOR Christ, and WELCOME it... think about how much suffering Christ did for us on the cross, not to mention how much God suffers every time we chose NOT to worship and believe in him... I think its a very small price to pay indeed.

Well, I think thats about it... no more about me... as I said, it is God and Jesus Christ who are important, not us.

Praise God and God bless all of his children here in Jesus' name. AMEN

No, PRAISE God!... I have a condition called Polycystic Kidney Disease... basically, my kidneys shut down. The only reason i chose to do dialysis, is that i am was unsure if i should just let it kill my body or not... I mean life is a gift, and i think there is much work to be done witnessing to others, so... I suppose i should fight to stay alive as long as God wants me here...

I was a sinner in just about every way possible (except gay... never been that thank God!)... but just about everything else... so my suffering now is quite justified, and I do NOT ask to be healed either... If God wants me healed, he will heal me - all I ask him for is forgiveness, and to rule in my life so that I may glorify him now.

Oh and BTW... its only painfull when i slack off and don't dialyze like i should... so for the most part, its no big deal to me... I know i will be sitting in glory with the Lord when its time... till then, my suffering is only this: seeing all the unGodly, unjust, EVIL crap in this world, and it truly pains me to see it...

            Re: Praise God

Well Praise Jesus, I'm glad to see that you understand that it's GOD who punishes and kills. When really bad things happen (like you get eaten by wild beasts, get killed in war, get sick and die, etc.), then you'll know that it was God that did it to you. And you should THANK HIM for it!

Ezekiel 14:13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:

14:15 If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:

14:17 Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:

14:19 Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:

14:21 For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
Now what church do you attend down there in Sunny Florida? I may know your Pastor.

I believe all punishment (on earth anyway) is designed to bring us closer to God in one way or another. Sometimes that punishment is lethal, but most of the time, it is simply a way to show us that Jesus is Lord and therefore is the ultimate authority on ALL things.

                Very interesting.

Do you believe that you are commanded by God to obey a Pastor's orders?

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Only if the pastor in question follows the scripture, AND the Holy Spirit shows me through prayer that it is what God wants me to do.

Answer the question. What church do you attend and what is your pastor's name?
I do not attend any church locally (there are none here that follow scripture - its infected down here with an abundance of catholocism... ie;satan's church), so the 'church' I attend is prayer with Almighty God, and studying scripture.

(sorry about not addressing this before)

That's odd. I found several Baptist Churches in your area with a simple Google search.
