I am the Woman at the Well. I am really fond of the entire First Epistle of John, especially: 2:15 "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world then the love of the Father is not in him." AND 4:8 "He that does not love does not know God, for GOD IS LOVE" (caps and underline mine, paraphrased) Such a simple yet powerful statement of truth. The Love of God is manifest is so many ways but I believe that the sending of His Son was the greatest demonstration of true agape LOVE. I am over 21, an American, and a biologist. I belong to the church described in the bible: the body of which Christ is the head. I owe no confession of sin to any man ; Christ is my intercessor and my savior. I feel strongly about my beliefs but cherish the fellowship of the body and therefore strive to see Christ in all of those who professs Him. I am commanded to love God and my fellow humans, the first being the blessing of my heart and the second a challenge at times. But I repeat, I am commanded to love my neighbor as myself. Any questions? I would rather talk about other subject besides myself but I want to be as open as possible.

Re: Introducing.....
Dear friend:
I welcome you in Christ's abundant love. Now let's render those Bible passages correctly, by quoting verbatim from the King James Bible, not by quoting from false Bible (per)versions or by paraphrasing:
1 John 2:15: Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 4:8: He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
If you do not see what difference it makes, please take a moment to review this. Thank you, and have a blessed day. This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

Re: Introducing.....
Pastor I: Do you think that paster E has made his comment in love? Thank you for providing the KJV. I underlined the "God is Love" part because it is where The Spirit led me. Also an introduction was requested from another member of the forum with specific information. It was not an invitation for correction or chastisment.
Paster E, ever read the Genesis story regarding Abrahams' servent's quest for a wife for Issac? Or the story in the Gospel where Jesus encounters the Samarian "woman at the well?" My screen name is a biblical allusion.Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Re: Introducing.....
What Church does your husband take you to lady? Do you even have his permission to be on this forum discussing Christ's Blessings?
1 Timothy 2:11-15
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing.
1 Peter 3:1
Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands.

Also, thank you for bringing up God's love and His commandments concerning love. I didn't mean to criticize you on that specific point, and I apologize if I didn't make myself clear. Of course, we have enough Christian love for our fellow human beings to warn them off of the broad way to hell, since God sometimes requires us to show tough love:
Ezek. 3:18-19: When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. Re: Introducing.....
Thank you for your thoughtful reply Pastor I. I understand and applaud your use of scriptual rebuttal and have considered it carefully. I see that you are dedicated to your role as teacher and if I may, I suggest that your style is infinitely preferable to Paster E. This person seems prone to use insult and attempts at sardonic wit to exercise his role. You are certainly correct that if God instructs a person to warn the sinner (example: Jonah was instructed to warn Niveah of the reprocussions of the city's sinful and we all know what happened to him as a result of his refusal) and he refuses to do so, he bears the responsibility for that person's failure to see the truth. Will you, Pastor I, tell me more about your church? And please Paster E, I request you conduct yourself as a gentleman. My husband most certainly does not consent to me communicating with a man describing himself as a "stud." Adultery and fornication are strictly prohibited by a very specific commandment (Exodus 20:14 if you are not familar.)Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Re: Introducing.....
My, aren't you a feisty one!
Welcome women in the well!
If I may suggest something to you, seeing as you are throwing around suggestions yourself? Respect for our Godly men on this forum will take you a long way, in the members eyes as well as in God's eyes. Insulting a man of God is not very Christian-like!
Lamentations 4:16
The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.
-- DefensiveGirlNYPsalm 1:5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

Re: Introducing.....
Huh? What does 'allusion' mean? I looked through the entire KJV 1611 Bible, and not one mention of the word 'allusion'. So, you mean you are a LIAR? God don't like no liars, lady! Remember what he done and did to Ananias and Sapphira for thier deceitful lies? Yep, that's right, God struck them down dead! Praise Jesus!Originally posted by Woman in the well View PostOr the story in the Gospel where Jesus encounters the Samarian "woman at the well?" My screen name is a biblical allusion.

Re: Introducing.....
An allusion, my illiterate rube, is a reference. Try searching for more simple terms next time like "well" and "woman" and see if your KJV1611 can help you there. Since I assume you are a woman (hard to know around here with all the men who are, shall we say "a bit light in the loafers" The woman in the well need not fear retribution if she chooses to make another biblical allusion regarding your fate under Levitical law. My name also is allusion if not a somewhat cryptic one to another Biblical heroine. See if you can figure that one out all by yourself. Then please feel free to tie yourself back to your stove and submit to your husband you adulteress!Originally posted by Rachel_Pierce View PostHuh? What does 'allusion' mean?
