How I finally come to be a protestant: out of so many cults
As a 28-years old chinese, now living in beijing, I'll tell the inescapable that I became a protestants.(1) As a young, primary school boy, I lived in a small town(a location between city and village) not so developed. In every lunar festival, I was forced to do "ancestor worship" for all the dead in the villiage----that's to say I had to get down to my knees, put down my little head on the ground and make "bang, bang" sounds to the floors in front of tombs, burn some paper(printed like money, saying "giving treasure to dead people as to comfort their sole). Then my parents would have to contribute some money to the chief of the village, the usage will be cleaning the tombs and pray for all dead. In fact, the chief only collects the money and never pray for any dead.
(2) There is a huge number of Buddhist here, you're never allowed to talk back any of their theories or temple masters. In fact, one of the grandpa's brother, turn to be sick in the 1980's, and refused to go hospital. He invited some monks from the temple to do "pray" for him. There were around 10-20 monks to do the pray. Their were reading some materials and burning some papers to "drive out the evil", which, I though, no difference from witchcraft. After a 3-4 hours process, they announced that "your sickness has been driven away, the next thing you have to do is to contribute to the Buddha sincerely".
The witchcraft was charged, a lot of money, as much as a months' salary of a normal worker in 1980's China. And with no doubt, his illness was only to get worth, and resulted to the "Pure land"---the "heaven" place described and ensured by Buddha.
(3) I noticed on this web-site, some interesting threads that by Mr. Enriq and Ms. Jenny-D. I noticed a thread by Ms Jenny.D talking about a dangerous cult in China, named "Falun-gong". In fact, there're thousands of "gong"s in this antiquated country, and all of them are cults!!!
3.1 The "Qi-gong", as most well-known togother with "kongfu", annouced that by certain kind of practice, you may be able to send out by hand, very powerful "shock waves"!!!!!! This kind of cult also impacted the culture of Japan and Korea. In many film, including hollywood, you'll see someone from the mysterious orient, attacking their enemy in a very far-away distance using "gong", the shock-wave, just from their hand!!!!!
3.2 Other kinds of "gong"s including "Falun", all announced that, in order to be souly saved, you must contribute everything to the "living lord" of this "gong"(This lord "Lee-hong-zhi" is wanted by the government of China, but now living secretly in US!), including money, virginity, your wife and children, and even all your sorrow and happiness. It looks like some kind of middle-age Catholic actions from europe, aren't they.
4. As I grow to be a middle-school student, I turn to be against "dead-worship" and all kinds of "gong"s. There was a joke that, one of my neighbors in the town, who is a buddist and go to temples to "pray for forture", finally proved to be a thief, and that, all his pray was to "pray to not to be caught and punished".
5. And during university time, I became a member of the China's communist party, a wicca. I didn't believe in communism, but I just want to get rid of all the persuading from people that "you should believe in xxxxx", which I think is just a cult or witchcraft. I know in political theories from both capitalism and communism, the "value" of sociaty only from the living people and never come from the dead!
6. Finally, in the research time for my master's degree for artifical-intellegence in computer-science college, in Beijing University of P&T, I gradually turns against the theroy of communism about "we can contrustuct a heavy of our own"-------because after 3-years research, I realized even the AI is a doubt-ful thing. We can only create things that all the elements have been created, we can't create anything that were not partially created by any creator!!!!! And if there's any "uncaused cause", it shall only be God. God is the ultimate creator and created the "spirit" of human-being. While as human-beging we can't create out any kind of spirit that can think freely.
We, are, not, creator--------I finally realized this.
After gruduation I stopped my research life and turned to Bible. I now work in a technology company.
I was not born in a Christian's family, not born in any environment of protestant, not persuaded by any missonary or godfather, not living in a town that every religion is free, not living in an environment of "the proves of God". But I can still feel God, and belive strongly to bible, no more, no less, no modifications. I didn't become a Catholic becasue after some investigation I found it contains witchcraft and dead-worship and a lot of modifications/addons (e.g, pope, nuns)to bible spirit.
It's a bestow from God that every one is able to view internet from all corners of world, from which I downloaded my bible.
It's very fortunate that now I live in a flat very near to the biggest Christians'(not for Catholics) Church in Beijing, located in "Zhong-guan-cun" district, a district of computer technology where "goole", "microsoft", "Adobe", etc, located their Asian head-quarters. Every morning, I could here the bell ring, the angles from heaven are waking me up, "time to work".
No cults, no false-religions, no fake believes, and no one should turn our world into "living hell".
