    Hey.

    I'm new here... Hope to see some friendly faces. Nice to meet you all. I'm sort of a more casual Christian, so go easy on me, please. I really do love hearing everyone's opinions on religion, which is the main reason why I'm here. So I hope we can have plenty of nice discussions!

    Re: Hey.

    The Biblical term is not casual, it is"lukewarm" and we can go easy on you, but Satan won't after Jesus spews you from his mouth.

    Jesus did not go easy on people. I'm too humble to say I know more about preaching than Jesus does.

    Our opinions on religion? Sorry, we don't offer those here. We only offer Christ's opinion.
    Disagree? By failing to register and debate me, you prove that liberals are factless frauds who only persuade through intimidation. To prove otherwise, debate me!

      Ah, my apologies, then. Well, thank you, sir.

        Re: Hey.

        What does 'casual Christian' mean? I've never heard that term before.

        Do you mean you're a Christian when you feel like it, and it isn't incovenient? Or when it doesn't conflict with whatever perversion you feel like engaging in at the moment? Are you Catlick or mormoon or something?

        Jesus is very clear. He wrote the KJV Bible from cover to cover with instruction on how exactly you are to live your life. There's nothing casual about it. Nothing optional either.

          Sorry, I wasn't too clear! I follow the New Testament, and go to a non denominational church.

            Hey, we're a lot alike.

            I have a Cessna, which I know nothing about (but I like the brochure), and trust my gardener to keep it in the air.

                Re: Hey.

                But, do you follow the Old Testament as well? That is just as important as the NT as Jesus Himself attests...

                Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
                Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
                Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

                Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

                    Indeed, faith can bring the possible out of the impossible. It was my faith in Christ that allowed me to rebuild my televangelist empire upon my release from prison. A mere man would've just crumpled and floated from job to job with no purpose, like a cork in the sea. The Good Lord has seen that I have re-established my purpose and bringing in more souls for Heaven.

                      Oh yes! That's one of my favorites too!

                      Mathew 17:20
                      And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

                      Another one that is often mistranslated by these faithonlywit's would favor my loving works based Christianity. After careful reasearch, it appears their King James Version clearly got this verse wrong.

                      KJV=wrong
                      1 Corinthians 13:2

                      And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

                      NIV=right

                      1 Corinthians 13:2
                      If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

                          Sammy, your hate-filled attempts to bring down the KJV fail once again. Of course the AV1611 KJV is the most accurate translation! Nowhere in human history have such erudite scholars been assembled to translate a Bible. Men like Dr. Lancelot Andrews, Dr. John Overall, Dr. Richard Kilby, and more.

                          And who was chairman of the NIV committee? None other than noted sodomite Marten Woudstra. That's not to mention all the other homosexuals and lesbians and other God-haters who made the NIV.

                          Consider your source then when it comes to translation.

                          Now, I topped my class in Greek when I was in Bible college many years ago, and while the word agape does mean "love", agaph and agaphn are very similar words but more accurately translate as "charity". You are doing a disservice to the Word of God(r) by spreading misinformation like this.

                              Your own example shows why the NIV is untrustworthy. You've got three "agaph"s and three charities, but only two loves.

                              You presume to lecture us on whether "agaph" means love or charity. And yet you can't even count to three.
