Scientists have discovered that the Earth was formed 4.54 Billion years ago, and Mitochondrial DNA and Fossil evidence tells us that Homo Sapiens have been roaming this planet for about 200,000 years. There's actual proof behind science, it's facts, it's formed on discovery, not fiction. There is zero actual proof that God formed this planet and that we were created 6,000 years ago, it's just hear-say.

Your confusion is probably related to your inability to spell and/or your use of invented words.

I think that's a little strong. God approves of only one sexual preference - the normal one. The poor are always with us, as Jesus said. It is therefore not wise to bring them out of that state, otherwise, if we succeed, we would make Christ a liar. The races are God's creation, He created the Children of Ham to be servants, but may rebel against their lot in life.

Rights are another problem - With rights comes the responsibility for praising God in Word and Deed for that Gift - too many lesser people cannot, or will not, do this

And I mean REALLY read it, not just skim a few pages. And then it hit me: either this is all hogwash, or... it is the TRUE word of God, and EVERY word should be taken literally.

A Divine Revelation if there ever was any.

A simple human like myself surely should not decide which parts I wanted to believe, and which parts I wanted to ignore.

I grew up learning about religion, reading parts of the bible, listening to vicars etc but I just don't believe in the same way you guys do. I'm happy with my life, I don't need turning around. I have morals, I treat people right, I have a conscience, so don't agree that religion is the only way to acquire these characteristics.

How do you explain the various scientific theories that disprove this idea of a 'God' character creating the Universe in 6/7 days? How do you feel about the theory of evolution and the Big Bang?

Since I expect that you're only open to learning things that can be verified via the internets, may I suggest that you stop writing 'alot' (which isn't a word), and start using the commonly accepted phrase 'a lot'?

Yep, because Albert Einsteins theory of relativity and the Big Bang Theory (first theorised by Georges Lemaître) were first written up and can therefore only be verified via the 'internets'.

Then why do you come here spewing hate when all we are doing is reading the Bible (KJV1611) and quoting exactly what it says about the punishments for the Ten Commandments so that the world can understand how to be a True Christian™?

The part I found funny was the ridiculousness of the punishments for what I consider to be fairly minor crimes. I consider murder a far more severe crime than either having a god before this one, or taking God's name in vain.

The 'disproof' I am talking about doesn't come from scripture. It comes from the world of scientific discovery. Theories that are backed up by scientific evidence and geniune proof, not relying on and taking the word of God as gospel.

The main scientific theories that dispel any possibility of God creating the Universe we live in in my mind are The Big Bang Theory and then the Theory of Evolution. If you're ignorant to the Big Bang Theory I'll bore you with a simple explanation. he Big Bang theory refers to the idea that the Universe has expanded from a primordial hot and dense initial condition (most likely to be a superhot, superdense fireball of energetic radiation) at some finite time in the past (currently estimated to have been approximately 13.7 billion years ago), and continues to expand to this day.

The theory itself is supported by Einsteins theory of relativity, where he realised that his equations said that the universe must be either expanding or contracting, but it could not be standing still, because if it were then gravity would attract all the galaxies towards one another.

I certainly find that theory, and Darwin's theory of evolution to be a FAR more believable idea than this Supernatural God-being creating the Earth and the Universe in the space of 6 days, before creating a man out of dust and a woman from one of his ribs. I don't honestly see how that is at all possible; and years and years of Scientific discovery support my argument.

But I'm a nice, loving person that doesn't believe in the theory of heaven and hell. It's not particuarly nice, but I believe that once we die we're popped into the ground and rot. I don't believe that our spirits continue to live on and get into contact with these mumbo-jumbo 'mediums' and I don't believe we move upto Heaven or Hell depending on how we've lived our lives.

I don't wish to be scared into living a life of good just because of the possibility of there being a Heaven or Hell. I want to be a good person because I have had morals instilled into me, because I have a conscience and because I want people to treat me with respect. I don't believe I need to follow the rules of the bible and follow these strict rules in order to be a good person.

It's not a stupid question. As I said in my last paragraph, I believe that you can be a good person, treat people well and not commit atrocities without having a base of religion. I believe when Religion and the words of the Bible are taken as literally as the people on this site it just causes you to harbour unnecessary hate. I personally have no issue with anyone that wishes to be gay, I'm not gay myself but if being gay makes someone happy then why should I be bothered by it and why should I feel the need to take issue with it?

I have made a couple of posts on here already, both concerning a certain article regarding the 10 Commandments and a whole load of Genocide, Capital Punishment and rape. I'll be honest, I found it funny. Not the actual acts of Genocide etc, but the extremity of the piece and the extremity of the punishments and find it hard to believe that such small crimes were ever dealt with in such an extreme way.

I am an Atheist, and make no bones about it. I'm not an extreme Atheist, I have no problems with people believing in a god, or taking solice in a religion, I just don't happen to believe in one myself.
