While some christians do pick and chose to their liking, many christians these days would prefer to hold onto the old testament teachings denying the voice of Jesus telling them to love from the new....

I was under the impression that Jesus did away with the old testament, the covenant, the teaching and traditions that were placed upon men... that would be why there is a "new" testament... lol and why I asked why people are still holding on the values of the old?

Okay, let me try to explain. Basically, you have two groups:

1. Christians who are nice to you and tell you things you want to hear. They will convince you to skip parts of the Bible and believe that God wants us to live some easy & comfortable life.

2. Christians who appear rude and tell you -- supported by the Bible itself -- that the Bible should be read as a whole, with nothing skipped. If there are difficult parts in the Bible, then we should accept that God put them in there for a reason and that it's not up to us to question God.

So, which group will you follow? Group number 1 is easy and allow you to have sex with your dog and say "hey, it's OK.. skip over the OT man. Peace bro". Group 2 is difficult, direct and has strong factual arguments.

Your confusion is not about who is right, it's about whether you are willing to give up earthly convenience. That is a decision only you can make.
