I honestly can't believe what I've seen on theses forums. Racism, sexism, homophobia, abuse... it makes me sick to think that there are actually people like this.

I'm an Atheist, your views are far too moronic for me to believe in them. I accept that you all believe in a so-called "God", and I respect your decision to do so, but when I read what I have read on these forums, I can't help but be shocked.

Don't any of you occasionally think that there is more to life than some book? You believe in the drivel presented to you in the bible all your life in hope of getting into Heaven, you completely forgo pleasure, common sense and open-mindedness because of it. I think the effect religion has on all of you is disgusting, and the sad thing is is that children are brainwashed into believing in it by Christian parents.

These parents are vile, according to the words on these forums they completely close them off from free-thinking society, forcing them into the confines of Christianity.

You people literally beat Christianity into these children, and raise them according to the word of the bible.

I saw a thread where a parent asked the people of these forums if he should arrange to have his daughter raped so she would have to marry the rapist. That is fucking revolting, this is the effect Christianity has on people, a father contemplating having his daughter raped because of his religion.

Christianity, and to be honest, all religion is sick.

Now, unlike all of you, I am open-minded, so if any of you can justify rape, abuse etc. due to religion, I will happily believe your views and live my life according to them. And I mean an actual justification, not any of this "the bible says so" bollocks.

To claim we are not open minded is absurd. This is like stating we are a huge group of drones that all say and do exactly the same thing. An absurd concept.

First of all, thank you for not attacking me because of my post. I am merely curious as to how you can all believe this stuff without any proof that it is based on anything absolute.

As I said, I completely respect that you all believe in Christianity, and the last thing I want to do is intrude (although that may not be apparent based on my last post), but when violence etc. is encouraged by it, I can't help but be concerned and ultimately, want answers.

The reason I say you are closed-minded is because (based on what I've seen on these forums) you seem to dismiss anything that waives, or goes against the words in the bible.

No, it isn't proof. It is far from proof in my eyes. I'm not consumed by self-hate, I love life, and I love the fact that I can pursue anything I want. Christians however, don't have that privilege, because something could go against what is said in the bible. The decision to live by the bible severely limits what you can achieve in life, and that saddens me.

No, but that isn't absolute. That is just something someone has told you - that God created everything, how do believe that person?
