  • Hey all

Greetings everybody, I hail from Cumberland, Maine. I was born in Douglasville, GA in 1983, grew up baptist, and will be baptist for life. I was brought up on the 1611 King James Bible, and never looked back. My father was a pastor and huge supporter of George Bush Sr., who we have met several times near his summer home in Kennebunk, Maine. I enjoy playing music (organ) and play in my church's musical group. I am currently studying youth minsitry, as I love teaching children EVERYTHING that I can. Someday I would like to move back to Georgia and open up my own parish!
    Bless!
Leviticus 19:18: "Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the LORD."

    Greetings friend, and welcome.

Tell us a bit about yourself? Are you married? How many sons do you have? What church do you attend? Are you active in Maine politics? What is your favorite verse from the KJV?

      Re: Hey all

Hello! My father used to help with Republican campaigns around the county, but I never developed a knack for that type of work. However, my brother, my only sibling, aged 31, lives in Montgomery, Alabama. He works in the treasury department at the capital. He stepped out of his duties when most of the Republican community grew full of Catholics and even some "people" who are near liberal!
I'm not currently married, still looking for the right woman. Planning on having two sons though when that time comes. I attend both the Faith Baptist Church and on some occasion I meet my family at First Baptist Church in Portland ME (where my parents attend).

And I leave you with my verse of choice! Reflects my peaceful nature, love of children and of course our savior. Leviticus 19:18
"Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the LORD."

Good to have another Republican on board. Did you ever meet the President yourself?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I met both President Bush jr. and senior two summers ago. Quite an experience! They have a home for the summer not too far from where my parents reside. The former President and first lady often attend the Memorial Day parade there. My parents have a photo of President Bush sr. holding me as a baby at a parade well over twenty years ago. Can't say I remember much about that meeting though...:-)

Just e-mailed my father. Hopefully he has it scanned on his computer, that's a photo I would love to have on my desktop, or as my avatar! If he doesn't have it I will be grabbing it next time I visit my parents, for sure.

                Re: Hey all

I love your username, btw. I've heard Creed isn't actually a Christian band, but back when I was an unbeliever their song 'My own Prison' deeply moved me and got me moving in the right direction.

Some of the lyrics from the song:

court is in session, a verdict is in
No appeal on the docket today
                Just my own sin
The walls are cold and pale
                The cage made of steel
                Screams fill the room
                Alone I drop and kneel
                Silence now the sound
My breath the only motion around
                Demons cluttering around
                My face showing no emotion
                Shackled by my sentence
                Expecting no return
                Here there is no penance
                My skin begins to burn
                ......
I hear a thunder in the distance
See a vision of a cross
I feel the pain that was given
On that sad day of loss
A lion roars in the darkness
                Only he holds the key
A light to free me from my burden
                And grant me life eternally
Doesn't the skin try to crawl right off you when you hear that? Beyond moving!

                    I'll tell you later.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Ah, ignore previous post. Figured it out. Sorry about the lower quality, again it is a scanned photo... and from the 80's!
Also I find that Creed is simply one of the more Christ-driven bands that the radio has to offer... there are certainly artists who are 'more Christian' than them, but I will never lose respect for their talent and message. Agreed! That song is beautiful.

I noticed this, especially today. I have been reading the forum for a fair amount of time, and while I have seen the judgmental and intolerant sinners before, it has never been the vast amount which has existed today! I think the blame can be pinpointed to one very long post in particular, not going to say which one due to its despicable nature, but it is in the men only forum.
