Here we go. I thought it was in John, but it is First John.

1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Here it tells me to test all spirits that speak to me, to see whether or not they are of God.

This here, is likely the only test approved in the Bible for determining whether or not you are hearing from God. Since I hear no spirits, I cannot believe in them. I have to hear from the spirit of God before I can believe.
      Interesting,

James 2:19 says that even the devil believes.
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

      2 Corinthians 11
14And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

You will confess in the end, sinner.

      Romans 14:11
For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

I just want to step in here for a second.

When it says to try spirits, it's not just talking about spirits as in the Holy Spirit or demons. Do not the Pastors on this board have spirits? Does not every human have a spirit?

1 John 4;2Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
Of course that's not the only test that the Bible gives us.

I want to go over a few things with you.

        1. First of all, can you tell me when and the circumstances of your baptism? Was it an infant baptism? Did you truly believe when you were baptized? Or was it to please your parents? There may be an issue with that.
John 1:12 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he powerb to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

        2. Do you read your Bible on a regular basis? Because if you don't read your Bible, how would you know if you heard something whether or not it was from God.
2 Timothy 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

        3. Have you prayed and fasted in confidence for more faith? Unfortunately it seems that we have to put the first foot forward and have faith that God will come forward.
14 And this is the confidence that we have inb him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Here it asks me to test God in tithing as well. A habit I've kept from my days being raised evangelical, is that I tithe 10% or more of my money to local churches and charities to support my community. If I have no money to tithe I tithe 10% or more of my weekly time (17 hours, which is 10% of a week, minimum.) to the church and charity for labor.

I've been testing, as it tells me to do.
Well you might be angering God by giving to the wrong charities and churches. In order to make up for this, you may want to contact one of the Pastors here to set up a tithing schedule to Gods favourite church.

And now we have my favorite verse again. I hold knowledge most dear in my life. Wisdom is the only thing I honestly hold precious to me. Material objects hold little value considering my mortality, and without belief in God, the only thing I have to hold dear and seek with all my heart is knowledge.

Because I tithe, I search for knowledge of the world and of God, and because I desire to test the spirits I listen to, so that I know I worship the one true God, I feel that he will make himself real to me one day. I have faith that I will feel or hear God, and know him when I do, and be saved before my death.

Should I not though, and should God exist, and I stand before Him on judgment day, than my only desire is to inquire where he was when I cried out for him, and except my fate in Hell. I would deserve Hell for my horrible misunderstanding.

Should God not exist then I only desire to live my life and die without regret.
I can hear you crying out, I realize that you are currently lost in the wilderness. Look around here, read the good Pastors articles, they will lead you to the Lord.

Satan? You mean the arch enemy of God? Being a fallen angel and, at one point, the most trusted angel in heaven, he had to believe. Honestly denying God is impossible for a being that had the luxury of looking him in the eye each day.

Satan has heard the voice of God himself, and seen God himself. I have not.

Actually, the only thing I've learned over time is that I've been wrong about most assumptions I've made. I have a tendency of relearning things I thought I already knew as I mature.

Anyway, my point was that I love knowledge and seek it, not that I have it. For seeking knowledge of God and his creation I believe one day I will be rewarded.

I wonder what exactly I will confess? I mean, my sins? Will I confess God is real? What exactly is gonna be confessed?
