  • welcome, and question about Exodus

    Hi, all,
This is my first post on this forum, and I'd like to start off by saying that it's an honor to be approved for membership in your little piece of the internets.

I found this forum while using the Devil's 'toolbox' (google). It tears at my soul when I use it, but it's a strong habit that's tough to break. I was looking for another subject and ended up here of all places.

The reason for this post is to seek advice or how to interpret this passage in the Old Testament:

    Exodus 11:7
7 But among the Israelites not a dog will bark at any man or animal.' Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.
4 So Moses said, "This is what the LORD says: 'About midnight I will go throughout Egypt. 5 Every firstborn son in Egypt will die, from the firstborn son of Pharaoh, who sits on the throne, to the firstborn son of the slave girl, who is at her hand mill, and all the firstborn of the cattle as well. 6 There will be loud wailing throughout Egypt—worse than there has ever been or ever will be again. 7 But among the Israelites not a dog will bark at any man or animal.' Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel. 8 All these officials of yours will come to me, bowing down before me and saying, 'Go, you and all the people who follow you!' After that I will leave." Then Moses, hot with anger, left Pharaoh.

Does that mean that my neighbors with barking dogs are godless Egyptians? Does the Lord make a distinction between me and them?
When I hear 'loud wailing' coming from my neighbor's place, should I assume they're suffering, even if it sounds like a party?

Thanks again for allowing me to ask this question. I look forward to seeing many or no responses. Either way I'll be happy if someone has read this far.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Son, how old are you? What church do you attend? Can you tell us a bit more about yourself?

OF COURSE Jesus makes a distinction between normal White people and sand nigras! What do you think we're over in Iraquistan for?

Your neighbors are more likely wetbacks with a roomfull of chihuahuas making all that racket. Messicants are well known for their "fiesta parties" that last for days, including loud canterwailing and unGodly noises on account of them being drunk all the time and worshiping Jesus' mother.

Is that the best neighborhood you can afford? Have you accepted Christ as your personal Savior© yet?
    Who Will Jesus Damn?

You don't even need to ask this question, the answer to it is in the context, the verses you posted gives the answer.
      It's very obvious really..

So you're either retarded, or playing dumb. Which one is it?
Why do you feel the need to mock Jesus? What did He ever do to yo?
He died for your sins, you know. Show Him some respect.

Well, I don't think they're Mexicans. One's a pig farmer. Often times the dogs are alone and I don't get a view of the owners, but hear a lot of barking. Another has a Chihuahua. I hadn't thought about asking if they are Mexican, but anything is possible.

          There's nothing to interpret, friend.

Here, Moses is warning the Pharaoh about the coming calamity, where God is about to kill all of the first-born Egyptian males. There will be wailing and crying all throughout Egypt. But God will make sure that the Egyptians will know that the Pharaoh, not the Israelites, are to blame. Not even the dogs will blame them.

The interesting part of this passage is when Moses says, "Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel." This is the first glimpse we get of God's sovereign grace in action.

The Israelites were just as sinful as the Egyptians. They were truly no better. They were just as guilty, and just as deserving of God's wrath. God made the distinction between Egypt and Israel, for His own divine pleasure.

Romans 9:15 For He saith to Moses I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

This demonstrates once again that God picks out the elect and shows favoritism to them, and chooses others for destruction. Praise God!

Let's see what some liberal-minded false so-called "Christian" has to say about that!

Holy cow, pastor Reuben. I am just amazed of what I learn in God's holy word daily. What a mighty God we serve.

I will try not to sing that chorus.

If the Lord leads you to it, he will get you through it.
