  • Hello...

I am Pete. I live somewhere in the remote forests of the Rocky Mountains. Unfortunately there are no Baptist churches in our out of the way area, but I have obtained a copy of the KJV1611 and am reading it out loud first thing when I wake up in the morning and last when I go to bed at night with all my family around me to listen His good word.

My favorite verse thus far is Genesis 1:28

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

I have adhered to this principle of the Lord all my life and will fully do so until my dying days. Praise Jesus!

What advice do you have for me and mine in continuing to go about doing God's Good Work?
    Proverbs 26:11
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Hello and welcome. Tell us more about your family and how you came to find Jesus.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

The Rocky mountains? You're not going to narrow it in any closer? Because that runs all the way from Alaska to almost Mexico.

        Re: Hello...

I have 5 boys and 3 girls all of whom are good God-fearing Christians. We also have my mother, my father, my wife's father, my oldest son's wife and my oldest daughter's husband living with us in our humble woodland home. Her mother has gone to see Jesus a few years ago. Every day we wake up when the rooster crows and gather around the breakfast table where I read to the family out of the Bible while my wife serves us breakfast. Then we all get to work on our chores because as everyone knows idle hands are the devil's playthings. The womenfolk tend to the house while we men work in the fields and make and repair things the family needs. When the day is done we once again gather around the table for dinner and I again read to them from the Bible. After that we put the everyone to bed having all said our prayers and rest up for the coming dawn where we start all over again.

I was raised to believe in Jesus as my Savior from the time I could walk and talk. My parents raised me much the same way I raise my own youngsters.

No ma'am because the devil has many earthly followers who will come after me and mine for our Faith. Oh sure we have many guns to fend them off with, but the hassle is really something we don't need in our lives.

Praise Jesus and welcome to God's favorite forum. I must say, your spelling, grammar and punctuation skills are excellent for a "hillbilly." We get unsaved trash in here all the time who claim to be college graduates, and they can't write prose the way you do.

I'm also impressed to hear about a colony of hillbillies up in the Rocky Mountains. As far as I knew, the only genuine hillbilly clans are in the Appalachians and are so inbred that most of them have got no roof to their mouths and are dumber than a bag of hammers one and all.

I guess you must be from the Aspen hillbillies.

Tell us, Pete, what are some of your favorite verses?

And when are you going to brag on your wife's pies?

STOP! STOP! You're making me homesick! I grew up rurally and miss it so much. City kids could do with a good country education.

Now Pastor, isn't that a bit pf a generalization. Sorry to get uppity but that hit a bit close to home.
You know I live in Appalachia and most of my neighbors have some teeth still. Quite a few have married outside the immediate family too. Some even have jobs, working for Massey Coal.

Pastor, those Aspen boyys, they are the ones with the blonde hair and those furry boots, right?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Well if you're going to spread God's Good Word you had better be able to wrtie and spell properly don't you think? After all how can anyone understand you if all your writing are unitelligible gibberish. That is why we focus on learning how to read and write in my family only slightly less than we focus on learning the Bible. After all you must be able to read God's Word in order to follow it.

Yes I am an Aspen hillbilly. We thought it best to move away from those other folk because all of their drinking, smoking, eating of human flesh and fornicating with their own children is an abomination before God. They are no better than filthy heathens.

Some of my favorite verses are:

                  Proverbs 13:24
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

                  Leviticus 20:10
And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

                  Exodus 21:15
And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.

                  Proverbs 26:11
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

                  Malachi 4:3
And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

                  Malachi 5:11
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

And as far as my wife's pie she does make the most delicious apple crumb pie you have ever tasted. It fair melts in your mouth when you eat it.
                  Proverbs 26:11
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
