Well, there is the problem right there! Methodists are as false in there faith as Catholics. Their doctrine, if it can be called that, is about as clear cut as chocolate pudding. Gary, I believe your confusion and suspicion about the True Christians™ here at Landover stems directly from your contact with Methodism. Get rid of that false Bible this very instant and buy yourself a King James Bible, 1611 Version, as soon as possible!

I honestly am not sure what exact version of the bible they use. I will have to look into it. They may use the New International Version. The copy I have at home is the New King James Version. I assure you though, I have no suspicions about Landover Baptists. I have stated many times that I believe you are all saved. Have you seen the latest claim about me? I have now been investigated and have been found to be a hatemonger. I don't understand why anyone feels that way about me as I haven't conveyed any form of hatred towards anyone. I wonder what I will be accused of next.

Welcome Brother. I feel your intent is truly Christian. Some of us here have become somewhat suspicious of visitors here since we seem to be constantly harassed by:

Godmocking atheists, satanists, muslims, ring kissing catlicks, homos,
fluffy bunny so-called Christians, wacko new agers, heathen witches,
loony tune mormons, Godless teenagers with no respect and way too much time on their hands, seventh day adventists, vacuum cleaner salesmen, and lastly, trollop women who get their jollies by trying to lead astray True Christian men.

            Amen.
            Nahum 1:2

God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

Pastor: Thank you, I will surely look into it.

Barnabus: Thank you for the welcome. It is nice to know that some do see my sincerity. And I do understand the others feelings. Your site is attacked quite often as I have noticed.

They are following a cult version of the bible.

There is only one true bible - KJV1611.

So whilst the congregation of your church might think they are following the word of God they are in fact following a very watered down airy fairy feel good likeness.

I pray that you will find the light Mr Gary.

2 Corinthians 6:14 (King James Version)
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

                2 Chronicles 7:14

                  Re: My introduction post

A lot of religions use more updated versions of the Bible that have been translated to more modern terms to make It easier for their followers to understand and interpret the meaning of what It's passages are trying to convey. As the Bible is often poetic it can be difficult for some to understand. So historians have put the terms in a more modern way of speaking. Just as King James had people translate It from It's original language. However, the message is still the same. For example: thou and thy aren't used in our language today except maybe in some gospel hymns. I still will look into getting a copy of your version to read at home

Alternatively Gary, you can use the online KJV bible here

If you do not know all the books in order (and I was made to learn them off by heart at Sunday school as a 7 year old) then here they are.

Oh Gary, not the NIV! Your situation is worse than I could have guessed. That Bible reads like a children's book! Look at the differences between these two versions of the same verse:

                      Numbers 11:1

                      KJV 1611
And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

                      NIV
Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the LORD, and when he heard them his anger was aroused. Then fire from the LORD burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.

Do you see the difference Gary? In the NIV, it says that some of camp was burned, but in the KJV 1611, it says that God burned people alive. Now, if God got so angry that He rained fire from Heaven down on those ungrateful Jews and killed them for complaining, that is a lesson that should stay in His book. In the NIV, it appears that God was a bit annoyed with a few people and to teach them a lesson He burned up their tents.

There are countless examples like this Gary. The NIV is so watered down as to be nearly unrecognizable.

Oh my goodness Gary! The Bible is not ever to be interpreted, it is supposed to be obeyed! This last post of yours is very nearly blasphemy! Gary, I thought you had the makings of a True Christian™, but now I am not so sure. I will have to pray on the matter. You have left me shaken to my very soul! I am so disappointed in you Gary!

I'm sorry Professor I didn't mean to disappoint you. But what I posted wasn't blasphemy but an explanation of why some religions read from different versions of the Bible. I never stated whether or not they were justified in doing so. And I did say I would look into attaining a version of your Bible to read at home. I however I don't live in Iowa so it would be impossible to attend your church. But I do recognize the differences that you pointed out between the two versions of the Bible. I have always preferred the KJV.

Saying that there are different valid versions of the Bible is like saying there are different valid solutions to 2 + 2! The King James Bible is the = 4 of Bibles!

The danged NIV is the .0000001 of Bibles if you ask me, it's the worst of the worst!
