I just found this forum recently and have extremely high hopes that not everyone here is as narrow-minded as some I have seen.

My name is Brian.
I am a practicing christian and have been for my entire life. I'll be at church tomorrow just like the rest of you, but it seems like there is a start difference between my christian beliefs and a majority of beliefs here.

I seem to be immediately belittled for expressing my beliefs which is a huge turn-off.
I am simply looking for a forum with Christians who are compassionate to all other races and religions.

It isso good to see a practicing Christian seeking us out. I am afraid I don't understand how your beliefs could differ from ours and you consider yourself a True Christian. Don't you live your life as the Bible Directs you to? We believe that you live by the Bible, all of it. I have never read anywhere that Jesus says to ''pick what you like from the Good Book and that will be swell with me''. Can you tell me where I missed that?

I for one believe this is not in alignment with Christianity.

Hello, Brian. Any True Christian™ who follows God's Word is always welcome here.

Billy Bob does get a little carried away with his love of Jesus sometimes, and his earnestness to punish his wife according to God's command, but his intent is pure - he just seeks to follow God's Law to the letter. Who could criticize a man for that?

So far as her having "a right to leave" is concerned, I think you may not have been reading your Bible closely enough:

Mattew 19:
4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Whether or not I agree with his decision, he rules his house. Would I want to be married to the man? No! But she married him and you're not seeing the whole story. From what I've seen that woman seems hell-bent on seeing just how far she can push the man.

Personally I think the woman needs a good exorcism, but as I said, it is his house and he rules over her as Christ rules over him.

Take the values from the holy book, not the ridiculous rules.

So you just pick and choose what to follow? Isn't that creating God in your image? The Bible gives us a clear picture of who God is and what he requires from us, by changing the rules, we decide we know better than God. Do you think that attitude is going to get you into heaven?

You're not seeing the whole story. I truly believe she is possessed. It's the only reason I can see for such wilful disobedience. Personally, my husband brought out a bowl of rats and I'd be doing whatever he asked me to. Instead she fights him and makes his life miserable.

The realistic approach is to instill the good values from the good book.

Carol meets Greg, they date for a while and really like each other. Greg is acting extremely nice and concealing his devout christian ways.
Carol is christian as well but not nearly as devout.
They get married, all of a sudden Greg is reading forums. He sees that women should be subservient, especially his wife which he now has complete control over.
Carol is a normal girl who goes out with her friends to bars and has fun nights out. She talks on her cell phone and uses the internet on a regular basis, she may forget to do chores once in a while, but Greg forgets much more than her.
All of a sudden greg turns into some extremist. He says I will not have this back-talking in my house woman! You are my subservient! I caught you masturbating and you must be punished!
Carol says: "What the heck are you talking about? Quit joking around!"
Greg: "You have sinned and you must be punished for the love of god!"
Carol tries to leave but Greg grabs her.
Greg then ties her to a chair very tightly and leaves the room.
Carol is sobbing at this point wondering what is wrong with her husband. What is going on?
Carol "Greg please.....just let me go. Your scaring me!"
Greg walks back in the room with a bowl of rats.

Why do you think that Greg would be so secritive about his lifestyle? I think you've watched way too many movies. Most Christian men I know are right up front about what they are looking for in a wife. I rejected many Christian men because I didn't feel that they were strong enough in the Lord to be able to properly handle a family.

Yes the situation you put up is wrong because Greg lied. He should of told the truth and then God would of supplied him with a wife that would of been happy in her position.
