Re: Just a bit about me

    Welcome BB.

I have some great recipes for Koala and mango pie if you want them.
    2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land Australia.

Have no fear, friend. Here at Landover, we understand how difficult it is for a woman to learn to think, and we're prepared to support you every step of the way.

I never had a great interest in cooking before that, so I don't know why I suddenly became obsessed with learning to create meals without premade ingredients!

I research all manner of recipes, and then I buy the ingredients and prepare & cook the dishes. I now buy only organic foods, and I have to say that I feel as if I'm tasting meats for the first time in my life! There is NOTHING like the taste of beef or poultry when the animals were raised on free-range, natural lands without chemicals! Let's not even talk about the delight of fish that were caught on the coast of Alaska (wild & natural as God intended!)
Your Spirit-filled posting fills me with joy, but I found this bit somewhat dubious. Personally, I just prefer to take my food as the Lord chooses to present it to me, and if the Lord prefers to move a large company to pump it full of pesticides, that's His decision and I will not object to it. The alternative ultimately ends up justifying state interference with the workings of the free market, and I prefer to place my trust in God, not in Big Government. Everything else you say is irreproachable, though, I find myself astounded that a woman is capable of stringing so many coherent sentences together without embarrassing herself.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

          That sounds wonderful, Sister Charli!
Whosoever transgresseth , and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Since you follow the entire KJV1611 Bible, I can welcome you to Landover Sister. Snuggling deep within the bosom of Christian fellowship is truly a gift from Him!

Sorry! I forgot to address some of the things a few of you mentioned.

Well, Brother Temperance, your observation was especially valid. Usually when I see such usernames, it turns out that many of the people used them with mocking intentions! That's why I felt impelled to explain my name choice.

I'm sorry, I failed to mention that my mother was indeed restored to the Lord! When she cried and prayed and asked God's forgiveness, she left that false church (Praise God!) Before she did, I prayed and fasted, and asked God to show her the truth.

To this day, my mother remains a Godly woman, one who loves God with all her heart. She embraces and believes in the full gospel and is a Bible-believing woman.

Just to say, I had this same problem with a church I used to attend. The pastor was saying things that weren't in the Bible, but he attributed them as being from the Word.

I certainly thank God for the bountiful things He provides for us! (And I do use modern conveniences). Just to be clear, I don't use valuable time searching for special foods when I could be taking care of more worthy things. The foods I buy are right there in the supermarket next to their chemically-enhanced counterparts.

Sister Charli, thank you so much for your kind offer!

Since you sound like someone who has already mastered the kitchen, I need to ask you something: do you think I should start on pies so soon, when I am still learning to properly prepare a variety of dinners? I'm one of those people who needs to go slowly with new things; I make awful mistakes unless I practice a recipe until I can do it by memory. I welcome any and all advice!

Brother Temperance, I confess that the problem is far bigger than just learning to think. It's that I have always had a terrible problem with speaking before considering. The number of times I have embarrassed myself or inadvertently hurt others because of this flaw grieves me.

Thank you for helping me to understand this! Do you know what, I never thought of it that way before! ; )

Bless you for your encouragement! Again, I am humbled because I have such a long way to go.
