    Hello

Hello I am a new practicing christian. I was raised in a Baptist church at a very young age but was removed from the church when my mother and father decided to get divorced and live secular lives. I was no longer held to christian rules or believes and my life spiraled out of control. I have since come back to god, understanding that this is the only way to live a happy life. I am still confused on the expectations and need guidance from church family. I am looking to be held accountable for my actions, and need people to help me set bounds and rules.

    Re: Hello

Shakespeare said in Hamlet, "To thine own self be true".

Even though this is not from a sacred book, there is a lot of spiritual wisdom in that statement.

The Buddha's dieing words were "
Work hard to gain your own salvation". You don't need to relie on others to join with God. God is already within you, and you just have to wake up and realize it and find your own spiritual path. And like my name says, there are many paths. No one person has a monnopolly on truth.

If you look within, you will find all the guidance you need cuz God lives within us all.

Human beings are made of body, mind and spirit.
    Of these, spirit is primary,
for it connects us to the source of everything,
    the eternal field of consciousness.

Why do you need people to set bounds and rules for you? Why don't you just go get out your KJV1611 Bible and start reading it? After all, it is Gods instruction book for life.

I also suggest you find an independent Baptist church nearby so that you can attend regular services.

There is but one path to salvation which is Jesus and many to hell.

        1 Timothy 4
7 But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.
8 For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.
9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance.
10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.
        1 Timothy 5
23 No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.

3:3 If you agree with it, believe it, no matter if it comes from the Bible, the Qur‟an, The Buddha, Dave Barry, or any other source imaginable; these are all conduits of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

            Re: Hello

I spoke in a broad way and should clarify the statement about setting bounds and rules...I more meant applying rules and bounds already set in the bible. I meant to say that I want a church family that holds me accountable for my own actions past, present, and future. Not to surround myself with people that just say "Oh that's ok"
