    FICO for salvation?

Hi everyone! How can I tell whether I'm saved or at least making good progress? Is there something like a FICO score for salvation? Thanks for any help. God bless you.

    Re: FICO for salvation?

The only way to be sure is to be a Christian by accepting God, being baptized and read the Bible to make sure you follow every rule mentioned, do exactly as God commands, not be of the wrong people, make sure your forefathers haven't committed some hereditary sin, etc.

For a quick indication you could take a look at Reverend Jim Osborne's quiz: http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=34885

And don't forget what James 2:10 says!
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
    Leviticus 26:15-16
And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

      That's easy.

Hmmm... Well, I can try, but I gotta be honest. I just don't like some of the rules.

AFAIK, I'm in the clear. Except for that incident with Adam and the damned fruit. That idiot. Well, I can't change history. What can I do about this?

I don't understand this one. Does it mean that there is no scoring system? That it's either heaven or hell? Nothing in between? Like maybe an eternity of 5 days in hell followed by 2 days in heaven or something like that?

Are you sure, your other answers indicate you may have some problems with this. Do you trust God completely? Do you have faith that He will do right by you?

Oh, that's a bit of a problem, as my signature explains, God doesn't like people who don't like His rules, and you're bound to get a wasting disease or your eyes may start rotting.

The AFAIK indicates you're not quite sure, you really should read the Bible attentively so you can be sure, for example you don't want your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather to have been an illegitimate child, because as Deuteronomy 23:2 says:
2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

About the sinning you're already guilty of, God has of course blessed us by explaining how that works in 1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin

There is a scoring system and you have to get 100% on it or you fail, there are no do-overs or second chances, if you mess up this life you'll spend all eternity burning.

Oh man, I had no idea that it could be so difficult to be a True Christian. I don't think I can make it. Is there an easier and more foolproof way? A "Dummies" guide? Or maybe a pill, like in The Matrix?

Follower...I want to ask you..(someone really) about that...Being baptized. My last church was not into that. They rarely, if ever did that. My current church really believes in it and does it often. I believe in it because it is in the Bible. I just don't understand why a church would have an area for baptizing people and not use it but once in a blue moon. Why do some churches do it all the time and some seldom? When should it be done and how often?

God commands us to baptize new believers shortly after they've been filled by the Holy Spirit. Jesus also expects you to confess your faith to fellow believers, so a baptism usually takes place in a church to get the necessary believers. It happens once because you can only become Christian once.

New believers come from two places, heathens who have been converted to the true faith and children who have grown old enough to understand who God is, what Jesus has sacrificed for us and what He expects of us in return, so they can accept Jesus as their Savior. A church that doesn't have baptisms has believers who don't put effort into having children for Christ and who don't go out and convert the people of all nations as God ordered us to do. It's highly unlikely such a church is True Christian™ church.

                      Some relevant Scripture:
                      Acts 2:41
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added to them about three thousand souls.
                      Acts 10:44-48
44While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

                      Matthew 10:32
Whoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
                      Matthew 28:18-20
18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Indeed there is an equivalent. See the reputation bar that all posters have? Notice that you only have one measly green bar? In terms of Salvation in comparison to FICO, your score is around 50, whereas most Saved Christians here are off the scale in what would be a 800+ FICO.

It's common for unsaved trash to score so low. Show your love for Jesus here as often as you can and He will help you slowly build up your Salvation credits.

                            In Christ!
Matthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

It looks like I have a red bar. I don't want to go to hell! How can I raise my score quickly? I'm thinking maybe I should go to a Tea Party rally. Would that help? Would God notice?
