Re: Hello
God gave us a brain so we could intelligently use His wonderful gift of "Free Will". You see, being able to independantly decide on our own what we want to do with our short, insignificant lives is very important. God lets us choose to follow His Word(c), or not. Simple. If we follow His Word(c), we get the chance to possibly spend eternity in Heaven. If we choose to ignore His Word(c), we will absolutely go to Hell. Again, very simple.
Reading part of the Bible and ignoring other parts is like getting dressed and going out. A True Christina puts on sensible underware, pants and a shirt (or an ankle length skirt and long sleeved, high necked blouse), socks and shoes. All out Heathens wear nothing at all and go out. You put on just the shirt.Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Re: Hello
I know what you are trying to say, that finding the Lord is a personal experience. We all have found the Lord from many different paths. Some people have been born into True Christian families, while others have come from depths of depravity. It is not until the individual believes, and has faith in the Lord.Originally posted by Grapes View PostOff course i will be influenced by all kinds of people - even you guys in here. Dont think that im not considering the words i read here, as other places.
I cant read things without interpret the things i read. Papers, Blogs, Reports, Scholar work, the Bible, scripts etc. I will not follow anything blindly until i have given it some thoughts, and that can only be done fairly after reading it to an end. Then i will look at my feelings inside, and follow them. If you read, lets say, an civil law. It may seem unfair, but giving it some thought, it might turn out to be right.
Nice, and by the way, is was not trying to offend you with that comment.
As written above - to Lisa - i cant just follow something - anything at all - before getting to the end, and put things in perspective. Off course i can have an opinion, thats what we do. At least i i many ways.
I do not follow anything, or any bible totally, there will in any matters be parts where i disagree, or hava an other opinion or morale.
But i think you are correct. God wrote the book, so even fools, can understand his words.
I do not have a hard time understanding that you in here simply loves God and his words. And i really respect that! I love him and his words too. We do not nessecarely believe in him the 100% same way, but he is still the same God. We follow and read his words, but not 100% frome the same write down of his words.
In my eyes im no false Christian. In yours i am. In Gods...? well if we end up at the same God, we will have an answer to who going to what floor. Most likely im going down.
Should it be that I in the future, realise that i should follow, God the same way as you. Then i would be fantastic! I would have the answers for anything, in any situation. That would be something. A life without doubt. And without asking questions.
Then theres no need for brain. Why did god created us with a brain?
You do not know anything about Denmark.
YEs, when you follow the KVJ1611 you would offcourse believe your right. If you follow Sharilla, The Coran, Buddha, Jesus, Mother Mary, Atheism or Gandhi, you would believe your right.
See above
We are always on the path to the Lord and must be vigilant to stay on it. There is no shame in having others help us. The pastors are there to helps learn. Just as your parents did when you were growing up. Imagine what it would be like if you stopped learning from your parents when you learnt how to walk.
God has also given answer to you trouble in accpeting help with reading the Bible.
Exodus 18:20 And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.

A few words on 'respect'.
Respect is an overrated value. Many people are false Christians because they believe they must be polite towards, listen to, and even agree with people who are damned. The whole idea of ecumenical programs is to grant undeserved "respect" to false and even satanic ideas.
We at Landover are not going to smile at you and nod our heads up and down and say stuff like "That's really interesting" while you or anyone else spew about how great the Pope is, or how we are all equal brothers and sisters because the mooslims, Christians and Jews have the same god, or say stuff like "We'll just have to agree to disagree." No sir. We will tell you flat out if you are wrong. We're trying to save your soul and will cut to the chase to accomplish that. Too often "respect" is used to avoid telling the truth out of fear of appearing impolite.
As you have discovered, we are people who don't care what people who are going to hell think. Respect is earned.Leviticus 13:44 He is a leprous man, he is UNCLEAN: the priest shall pronounce him utterly UNCLEAN; his plague is in his head.
2 Kings 6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.

Well the bible that was a part of my growing up, is not the King James. And I do know that you say thats the only one, and the correct. But im not so sure. The way i grow up with the Bible and Gods words, was not at all so litteraly as you read the King James Bible. I do not take it word by word, but story for story, morale for morale. I dont know if it makes sense, it does in my native language, but im not sure in english
I do not think im smarter than God. I have read another version of Gods words, than Kings James. But im also a free mind, and do take reflection serious. That is also why i dare to ask questions.
But when im done reading your Bible, then who knows... i might change my mind, and then there will after all be a chance to meet in heaven.

First, I suggest you abandon blaming your misspent youth as an excuse for not using the KJV. You're an adult now, choose the correct version and stick with it.
Second, yes, you have a "free mind." Which gets you exactly nothing unless you use it for God's purposes. And those are laid out in "our" (which you should state as "THE") Bible - the King James 1611 version. Your "free mind" is only a test to see if you follow God's will. It is not a license to be a beatnik and lay around all day eating ring-dings and watching Jerry Springer.
The whole planet, and our short lives, have but one purpose: To be a proving ground for separating the heaven from the hell-bound.Leviticus 13:44 He is a leprous man, he is UNCLEAN: the priest shall pronounce him utterly UNCLEAN; his plague is in his head.
