My name is Elmer. I'm 74 years old, been a Baptist my whole life. Lost my wife six years ago. Kids bought me a computer couple years ago and showed my how to get onlines and how to use forums. I used to be on the Elgin papers forum for awhile, but too many kids and too many people didn't want to know Jesus. Nothing but fags and people with no fear of the Lord. Then I runs across this forum. One of the guys in my polka band he's a catholic said this might be right up my alley. We don't see eye to eye. I try to tell him he's on the road to heck but he says I should learn about his dang church. Well I says NO THANK YOU! I got Jesus in my Baptist heart and theres no room for his catholic crapola.

Anyhoo, got that off my chest. I'm awful glad to find a Baptist forum with other Baptists and I sure hope I can learn some more and maybe with Gods help I could teach a few people what it means to be a good Christian.

I'm sorry. I almost forgot. I go to Lighthouse Baptist Church in Elgin. My favorite Bible verse is either

2Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"

or I also like

1John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one"

I love the whole Bible but these two verses tell me why.

I really came to find Jesus back in 1966 when Lighthouse was a brand new church. Mom and Dad started going there right off the bat and me and my wife Evelyn we decided to take our 4 sons there. Been members ever since and now I'm on the board of trustees too.

I also have four grandsons. My oldest boy Tim he's got one named Mark. My next oldest James he's got two boys Mikey and Gabe, my next son Luke he's got another named Noah, and my youngest son is dead to me.

When I'm not on the hon to my Lord and Savior, sometimes I'm working on the churches finances and I also do taxes fpor people. I also bake breads and the best hot cross buns you ever tasted.

I dont know if I'm still fertile or not, I spose I am. I sure would like to maybe one of these days find a good Christian gal whose willing to try and be a good wife in every way, if ya know what I mean. Looks like I got to wait 300 seconds between times I answer so sorry for the delay. Aint my fault. Gee wiz 300 seconds takes a long time to go by! Seems like a half hour almost.

Hey hows come I got unsaved trash and under investigation under my name? Do you need to talk to my pastor? You can if you want. His name is Pastor Adam and you can call him at 847-742-2974 most days but not on Tuesdays or Sunday mornings. But you can leave a message and he can call you back.

Don't fret about the designation. We get so many trolls here that want to mock God and our faith, it is easier to assume that all new members are scum and then evaluate individually. If you remain polite and serve Jesus, it might go away. I'm sure you understand the persecution we face every day.

A pansy? Now looky here sonny boy, I made a decent living as a union baker downtown at Muterty's for 51 years. I was a good provider for my wife and my sons and I still draw a nice pension. I only bake breads and hot cross buns for my church brethren especially for the bake sales. You won't see any cookies or pies or any of that crap coming from my ovens. I also have had my own polka band for near 30 years so we could stay on top of the bills. I dont take too kindly to anybody thinking my baking skills would make me a pansy. My eyes are open for a good woman and I been praying for one for a couple years now. God will provide in His time if He means it to happen.

Welcome Elmer, We are in Freehold IA, just a couple of hrs from Elgin. I travel a lot, I have a small little business. Last week I was in Chicago on a quick trip, I noticed a lot of ethnic people there, slopes, Joos, nigras and the like. How do you do it? I mean how do you live that close to those kinds of people?
