While that does seem a bit unwarranted I suppose.
My name is Patrick, as in a Saint you may have heard of. I am as Irish as they come, but don't feel the need to give my last name. Online my friends and those who are not my friends know me as Omega. Not exactly an enjoyable self-proclaimed title, of which I can feel many of you pulling out Revelation 21 or is it 22, I think 22 and telling me what I already know.
I was saved a over a decade ago by asking for my salvation, converting to Christianity, from Christianity I guess, since I never wasn't one but wasn't raised in a heavily religious family. Ironically that young adult then was a Baptist as well, and is probably one of the best Christians I still know to this day. He had answers for every question I threw at him, I was so impressed, not longing to be like him, as I've always been somewhat humble and thought of him as some level of wisdom that I probably would never attain. But respected more so his intense love for his faith. I do owe a lot to him I must confess.
I myself own a religious website, one of which over the first year has raised in page rank and affiliates which is great. We have focused on making the design very insightful and reflective to God's Glory, but aside from this we have also been attacked typically on a month to month basis by people of attrition I like to call them. If it wasn't porn it was atheists, or gay rights activists, or ten other things. It got comical near the end and it seems that November was our first month where there were no attacks.
Needless to say I finished writing an article for my website, named aptly Legion of Angels, of which is and always will be non-denominational. I was baptized catholic, converted by a baptist, and if we ever went to church as a family we did so in a lutheran church. So you could say I've seen a schmorgesborg(sp?) of churches. I think my aversion of churches is namely in the dogma that is clearly not in the bible and my belief that wisdom and the true interpretation is from the Lord, given to you through the holy spirit and not through a building or a man that went to college to spread the word. Jesus nor any of his disciples went to college, and while times may have changed, I think there are regimens followed that detract away from what we should be learning indifference to "what you people want to hear". However I won't make an attack against this church or any other, as I have no right to make that judgement, except I suppose for those who as stated above clearly do not follow the Word of God.
As I finished my article, I'm sorry we focus on writing inspirational messages to those who view our website, whether spiritual or not isn't the issue, it's about helping people really with advice through life experiences. Nonetheless I went searching for "Wrath of God" and came upon your quiz for it. I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed but not surprised. While I scored a pretty good 7 of 10 for the over 1300 pages of the bible I've read all the way through, not remembering everything is ok to me, and I guess I'll pray that God forgives me for my ignorance in missing 3. However I find it very insulting to be called a Demon for every wrong answer I got with a pop up window. I must say, from the bottom of my heart, that is not Christian of you.
If you feel that fanaticism and exposing people to the fear of hell is going to win people into believing you ought to tell those trite comments to the atheists who rampant my own site on a daily basis, I assure you...they won't care.
I myself knowing that I'm a Christian, owning a Christian website am a bit set aback by being called a Demon but I suppose some irony could be found in the fact that I made a website focusing on the Glory of God and named after the Angels of the Lord and I represent one that is evil.
So perhaps I know my own place, eh?
That is a long story in itself, perhaps another day...
After a terrible experience when I was 20 I put my foot down and said I was going to read the bible the whole way through. For that time I never went to church and instead, before I started I prayed that God would give me the correct interpretation of his word, or else it was nothing but a waste of time. I'm not saying I'm the next messiah or anything arrogant at all, please give me the benefit of the doubt but over the next 4 years, took a year longer than I thought I read the whole bible.
So that's my story I guess, pretty ashamed at the quiz and the pop up boxes, and if this website is in anyway affiliated with the Phelps Kansas sect may God have mercy on your souls. I'm not for gay rights at all, but there is a line of decency that cannot be crossed and those baptists have gone way past it.
Nonetheless I think I might browse around this place for awhile, assuming I'm not thrown out immediately. If you have any comments, questions, or complaints, feel free to state them, I'm always here.
God Bless,
Patrick
