That's not calling names, accusing one of the Ladies of Landover (who I can assert does NOT have an Adam's apple) a crossdressing freak?

Speaking of that, I first read the Bible first when I was like ten years old. It was more of a Children's comic book in simplified English (all the ways these Christian proselytisers try to grab 'em young).

Even back then, my easily impressionable mind rejected several inconsistencies in that comicbook version. I didn't mind much the fairy tale parts of it (like Jesus turning water into wine) but the Old Testament was also full of mindless violence - the supposed benign God of Genesis suddenly turns to instructing Israelites to murder anyone with impunity. When David was asked to please King Saul, he just went ahead and killed 200 innocent Phillistine human beings as a "dowry" for asking out her daughter's hand in marriage. The way Abraham's wife, Sarah, treated her maid Hagar at a stage of pregnancy was unpardonable.

The Bible did leave an impression on me - but, it was of easily sanctioned murder and plenty of mayhem. My mind instantly rejected this bloody belief system, at such a tender age itself.

With Christian Charity, I choose to ignore your evil jabs, and in fact, expect nothing less from a poor, lost soul on the brink of eternal hellfire. Your absolute panic is showing.

As to why some here suspect you of being as homosexual, what we have seen is that once a sinner has strayed from God™s Word
-- as you have done by rejecting the Bible™ -- the slippery slope has been inevitably created, by which the sinner then falls into all sorts of other misbehavior.

Of course, one of the easiest for the lost soul to fall prey to is the cult of "same sex relations" (or "sodomy".) This is thrust in the face of the American population daily, and we see time and again that those without strong spiritual/moral convictions are powerless to resist the lure.

So if some True Christians™ here suspect you of the homosexuality, it is only because it has been proved time and again that such a state is often inevitable after one has "turned from" The Book.

Whoa, hold up a minute there, Bucko.

"Benign God"? Did you even bother to READ Genesis?

You whine about David killing 200 Philistines (hardly innocent, but people with whom the Hebrews were AT WAR), yet call God "supposedly benign" when in Genesis 6-8 He drowned all but eight humans and nearly all animals, because they were wicked?

God is clearly anything but "benign". That is the fairytale, milquetoast god made up by modern society, not the God of the Bible.

Acts 10:11-15: And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice [spake] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, [that] call not thou common.

            Or this:

Acts 15:28-29: For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

Isn't the gita a discussion before a battle on why Krishna has to kill off his cousins?
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Good question. You have to read the whole Bhagwad Gita to have a perspective on this issue. In fact, this is one of the most beautiful philosophical portions from that book.

Lord Krishna in Gita, at the very outset, eschewed unprovoked violence in all forms, except as a last resort. The Pandavas were cheated off their rightful inheritance by their cousins, the Kauravas. Their cousins also violated the dignity and honour of Draupadi, the common wife of Pandavas. They even attempted to kill the peace-seeking Pandavas in cowardly ways like setting fire to the house where they were asleep.

Despite so many wrongs directed at them, Lord Krishna arrived at the Kauravas kingdom to offer a last chance of truce. He brought the Pandavas' message to the court, they were willing to give up their inheritance claim on the Kingdom so that Kauravas would be free to enjoy being Sovereigns. In return, all they wanted was landholdings worth FIVE ACRES!

Essentially, the Pandavas were willing to forgive their cousins for all the wrongdoings in the past and in return, they wanted just a small portion of their rightful inheritance - FIVE ACRES, all to be left alone in peace and quiet. They didn't want any violence or conflict.

Apparently, even this magnanimous gesture was not enough to slake the greed and lust of the Kauravas, who were so full of hatred that they wanted nothing short of their cousins being humiliated in their presence, and treated like beggars and slaves.

IT WAS AT THIS POINT THE MAHABHARATA WAR TOOK PLACE. Never disturb the peace of an innocent man who wants to be left alone.

At the battlefield, when Arjuna, the Pandava prince, started dawdling at the prospect of killing his own cousins, Lord Krishna reminded him that any act of killing from that point onwards is not murder. It's a just retribution for an endless span of wrongdoings.

                    Yada yada hi dharmasya
                    Glanir bhavati bharata
                    Abhyutthanam adharmasya
                    Tadatmanam srjamy aham

                    ~ Bhagavad Gita (Chapter IV-7)

                    TRANSLATION

Whenever and wherever there is decay
                    of righteousness, O Bharata (India),
                    And a rise of unrighteousness
                    then I manifest Myself!

The essence of the Gita can be captured in simple words. Violence should be only the last resort, and should be only allowed with an aim to restore justice, and righteousness. Any other reasoning for violence, is wrong, and unpardonable.

When the first atomic bomb was detonated on Hiroshima, Japan, J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientific director of the Manhattan Project, took his inspiration from the Bhagwad Gita.

"If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the mighty one."

"Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds."

The real quote was something like this:

Doom am I, full-ripe, dealing death to the worlds, engaged in devouring mankind. Even without your slaying them not one of the warriors, ranged for battle against thee, shall survive.

                    (11:32 = MBh 6.33.32)

I would justify Oppenheimer's position and his rightful inspiration from Bhahwad Gita, because at that point of time, Japan was running concentration camps where they were killing hundreds of thousands of innocent soldiers in its POW camps. Imperial Japan was a true Evil Empire with lots of blood on its hand. Yes, I do support the way America dropped those two bombs and ended the war.

Anyone exposed to the beautiful philosophy of non-violence in the Bhagwad Gita, would find the blatant murders sanctioned by a supposed God in the Bible, horrifying and inexcusable.
