    A few "misconceptions"

    1. The resurrection was genuined and without the resurrection there is no Christianity

    2. The prophecies about the mesiah in the old testament were staged or just flat out exaggerated or lied about in the new testament

    3. Faith is just being comfortable with your own ignorance

    4. Your prophets followed profits

    5. Jesus was just an illusionist and a scam artist that had years of training and research at a young age

If you feel like posting a rebuttal please don't quote scriptures I don't believe in the "word of god". To me it's nothing more than stories and guidelines written edited translated and misinterpreted by man.

We don't do any misinterpreting here, because he don't "interpret" the Holy Bible, we read and obey it word for word. Perhaps you should prove your ridiculous claims. Or leave and cry to Darwin when you can't beat True Christian™ Biblical logic.

Can you back up any of your claims with scripture?
"Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him." Matthew 21:31-32

For your next trick, why don't you grow a set, then walk into the nearest church during a service and make these same assertions?

Oh, right. Because you're a pathetic little coward who will join a church's internet forum to insult its members when you think you are posting anonymously, but lack the courage to do so to anyone's face.

Could you please restate that in English?

          2. The prophecies about the mesiah in the old testament were staged or just flat out exaggerated or lied about in the new testament

Can you explain how prophesies were "staged" when it's an historical fact the Old Testament was written before the New Testament? Was time travel involved?

          3. Faith is just being comfortable with your own ignorance

Do you believe the sun will rise tomorrow? Yes? How does it feel to be comfortable with your own ignorance?

          4. Your prophets followed profits

Have you bothered to open the Bible even once? The prophets almost without exception were poor and, frankly, didn't want the job in the first place. They made not a sheckel from their service to the Lord, and in fact many were persecuted.

          5. Jesus was just an illusionist and a scam artist that had years of training and research at a young age

Again, have you bothered to read any of the New Testament? Please correlate the Sermon on the Mount with a "scam artist." Jesus owned nothing but the clothes on His back. Exactly what was He "scamming" people out of?

Your foolish and absurd request that we not quote Scripture will get the total lack of attention it deserves. I know it's tough when your hormones are just kicking in for the first time, but please try to graduate high school before you play with the big boys.

            Your mommy must be proud.

I insulted nobody these are simply my views. If you find the word "ignorance" insulting then your translation is not the same as mine. Ignorance means a lack of knowledge. I find that your "biblical logic" lacks knowledge which is fine considering when it was written. What is not ok is for people to remain ignorant simply to protect their views. That is a dangerous way of thinking especially for fundamentalists such as yourself. That's the same mindset that jihadists, crusaders, zionists and many other destructive people in history have had.

The reason I quoted this particular post is to show the defensiveness of this forum. Apparently as Christians you feel it is necessary to judge others that are different from you or that do not share the same ideas as you. According to your book the only one that can judge me is god. For you to attack me personally with pety insults only shows that you are not comfortable in your faith. If you were so sure that what you believe is correct nothing I mentioned should give you an emotional response. The truth is that you are not really sure and rather than think about the possibilities and come to a conclusion you have chosen to ignore any alternative views. This is dangerous and it needs to be stopped.

I have been to church and I have expressed my views to members pastors and youth ministers. None of them were defensive. They simply disagreed and told me that they would pray for me. Not a single time did any of them attack me personally for not believing what they believe. At least those people were not hypocrites. Your forum has nothing to do with god. It's only here for you to reassure eachother that what you believe is true so that you don't have to find out for yourself. That's a true example of being a coward and repeatedly in history it has led to nothing but destruction.

Since nobody really gave a rebuttal except landoverlover the following response is addressed to that person:

            1. The resurrection was an illusion because it was so important for Jesus to fulfill that prophecy in order to be considered the messiah. Had they not been able to pull off that illusion there would be no such thing as Christianity as the followers would soon forget about the prophet. Thirty years after the death of Jesus Christ it was written that over 500 people saw Jesus again. A written second hand testimony after thirty years simply is not credible to me.

            2. The old testament was written after the new testamant? Maybe translated from hebrew to latin but definitely not written after. You are incorrect. Read up on the dead sea scrolls they included some old testamant writing. Not to mention that if what you say is correct then what were the Jews reading before Christ?

            3. I never said faith was a bad thing. But I define it as being comfortable with your own ignorance. Yes I have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow. No I don't consider it a bad thing. The difference is I and the entire world over the history of mankind has had experience with the sun rising every day. This idea of Christianity is fairly new comparatively and not shared amongst everybody.

            4. The Vatican. Your churches. The gold watches and nice cars that your ministers have. Evangelicals on television asking for a percentage of your money. These are all examples of what I mean. They talk about god and demand payment for it. Don't believe me? Then stop paying. Tell everyone to stop paying. Let me know when they start threatening your damnation in order to scare you into paying. Let me know when they start offering pardons or salvation for a monetary price.

            5. Jesus and his apostles scammed people out of their minds and hearts for power. Even 2000 years later they still have that power over people that are followers. Men have used this power in the name of Jesus to manipulate followers. That's how kings are born. That's how wars are started. Don't be a follower and let them tell you how to live and think. Make your own determinations on what is right and wrong.

I received an infraction for this thread. The reason? "Atheist Scum". Even if we didn't disagree with what is written in the bible you people are not following it regardless. Not true christians at all.

Yes, of course it's a dangerous way of thinking! If you remain ignorant, then how can you find God? The real question is: why do you keep protecting your views while knowing you'll have 0% chance to enter Heaven? You have nothing to lose by surrendering to God and everything to gain. It's your choice. Think very carefully about it.

Maybe you should read "our book" before commenting on it.

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Jesus instructs us not to be hypocrites. He does not instruct us not to judge at all.

If there's any undue emotion on our part, it's because we don't understand how someone like you would knowingly choose to go to Hell. But please, do go on attacking God's people for caring.

Wait, you go to church to tell people their religion is bogus? Boy, do you have a chip on your shoulder...

Also, please explain how you demonstrated your grasp of logic by using a completely unverifiable anecdote about an encounter you had with people whom you deem to be representative of Christianity on the basis of how polite they remained in spite of your rant. At least have the courtesy of mentioning the name of the church so we can check.

Right, because He got a big house with a pool, a car, a hot babe and a private jet out of it. Oh wait, those didn't exist back then. What did exist was the opportunity to die for our sins. And thus He did. You're welcome, by the way.

              Boring arguments:
              1. Faith's not a bad thing but you condemn it as ignorant. Gee, thanks for "allowing" us stupid people our hobby.

              2. You went to public school, right? Faith has been one of the most important things for people all over the plane of the earth throughout history. People all over the world experience God.

              3. No one cares about an "argumentum ad populum". The truth isn't decided by popular vote but by God. We follow God over here.

If you don't know the difference between Christians and Catholics then you shouldn't be commenting on the topic of religion. You come to a Baptist forum to complain about Catholics? Why not go to a Mexican forum to complain about "you Americans" ??

I take my orders from Jesus H. Christ, supernatural born US citizen

Be wary of false Kumbaya Christians who use a highlighter and scissors to read the Bible. God wants us to read the lines, not between the lines. False Christians will go to Hell:
              Matthew 7:22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Asking a Christian to prove God exists is like asking him to prove his phone rings because yours doesn't. Make that call yourself! Dial 0800-get-on-your-knees-and-pray.

Barging uninvited and unwelcome into a Christian church's discussion forum to say that Jesus was a fraud is insulting and offensive.

                Where is your apology?

                1. The resurrection was an illusion because it was so important for Jesus to fulfill that prophecy in order to be considered the messiah. So enjoy Hell. The rants of a child who has never read the Bible means nothing to me.

                2. The old testament was written after the new testamant?
Might want to work on that reading comprehension. He stated that the Old Testament was written BEFORE the New.
                3. I never said faith was a bad thing. But I define it as being comfortable with your own ignorance. Yes I have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow. Nope, just the majority of humans alive today.

If you count the Abrahamic religions (Christianity, along with Judaism and Islam), people who believe in God outnumber those who don't by more than 2:1.

                4. The Vatican. Your churches.
                We're not Catholics, idiot.

So we can join you in Hell? No, thank you.
