A question about God and prayer

So I've been thinking about prayer and am a bit troubled by something. A few years ago my Aunt Jemmy was diagnosed with cancer and after months of intense, 10-12 hour prayer sessions and a little chemo the Lord Jesus blessed us and cured her cancer.

Now we know that God is omniscient and omnipotent and this is where I'm having trouble. So if God is all knowing, He knew Aunt Jemmy was going to develop cancer, He knew friends and family were going to pray like they've never prayed before, He knew she would have chemo sessions and He knew that He would end up blessing us with a miracle. So why would He allow her to get cancer in the first place if He knew He was going to end up curing it?

My Aunt Jemmy has been reduced to living in her car because she blew her savings and retirement on medical bills, she had to sell her house and she now gets free meals at the soup kitchen. I just don't get it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sound blasphemous, I just feel that I need help understanding his mysterious ways. I feel any understanding I achieve will only further my relationship with Christ.
Kings 2:23-24 NKJV: Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!” So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the LORD. And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.

        Oh that's right.

Well, God kills us when He sees fit, and uses us in His own ways. Instead of complaining about it, you should be praising Him for it.

You see when really bad things happen (like you get eaten by wild beasts, get killed in war, get sick and die, etc.), then you'll know that it was God that did it to you.

Ezekiel 14:13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:

14:15 If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:

14:17 Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:

14:19 Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:

14:21 For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?

Yeah, I had a friend when I was a kid that was attacked, killed and half eaten by a feral hog. My mother told me the same thing basically, God had His reasons, that He must have needed him in Heaven. I remember wondering why didn't God just take him in his sleep but who am I to question Him.

I hate to think that, he was a nice kid. He was Catholic though, so you're probably right

Did it never occur to you that God GAVE your aunt cancer?

Maybe He wanted to use her to demonstrate His boundless power and Love.

Maybe He wanted to show her that she was not really in control, that He is.

Maybe she was a backsliding sinner and decided to punish her, but give her the chance at Salvation.

Perhaps God is teaching her a lesson.

Maybe He wants YOU to learn a lesson about charity. Your mother has turned her back on her sister, and allowed her to become homeless.

Why does your mother hate her sister so?

But she's a good Christian. Conservative, Republican, hates queers and mooslims. He should love her.

Tell me young lady, does she follow the Word of God? I mean all of the Bible, and not just the easy stuff? I see that she hates queers and Mooslims, you should not hate them. As a True Christian you need to show them the errors in the life and turn them on to Jesus. You need to show them the Path to Salvation(R), now if a sinner refuses to take the Path, God will smite them and they shall reside in HELL!
